Please, oh god please! Please don't compare this game to Star Wars Galaxies!

Eh, SWG killed MxO before they started screwing with everything so that the WoW kiddies would play. I think they are both on par...which is now average-borderline below average. Live events are RP are a saving grace here.

I wouldn't like to commit myself that this is indicative of an actual ratio of SWG to MxO users, however it does give an idea of how pulling the plug on SWG may not be economically viable SWG - There are 4,740 online users: 3,487 registered, 1,253 guest(s) MxO - There are 530 online users: 428 registered, 102 guest(s) Really looking forward to getting back into the Matrix after a 2yr absense though

Yup, just forum users at the time of posting. Of course - that could just mean that there were more people playing MxO instead of forum browsing, where as more SWG players were trolling...

here's a bloody smart idea How about SOE returns MxO to Warner interactive and Monolith? I mean *CENSORED* SOE has a bad history with the treatment of customers and distribution of funds among it's projects MxO was Monolith's production and it should remain thiers

True, MXO has been improving over what is eventually a year under SOE's control, but a good portion of the developers devoted to this game have been seriously under-manned (especially with Rarebit being spread out badly), and it has been considered nearly impossible to get a Live Event on a player's home server. As far as I know, Recursion and Vector got more Live Events than Syntax, which I feel is not fair, and I know this is not their fault. If only there were a few more developers helping out Rarebit, Walrus, and crew, we could at least have an equal amount of events, instead of Syntax getting the short end of the stick. Regarding Star Wars Galaxies, I have been hearing that the game has been considered worse every time a new update is given, and that the game was doomed to begin with. At least pull the plug so a few more developers can be devoted to help out on the Matrix Online. As far as I can see it, MXO may not be on life support, but it's on crutches the way I see it. As a 2 yr player of swg, yea its pretty bad why do u think I came back to mxo after leaving few months after server merge. Give MxO more love!

I heard Monolith was losing $5M a day when they had 9 servers running back when they had thos property. wb/monolith projected WAY more players than what they got. due to bad marketing from WB the game didnt get the required exposure to get the projected players... due to the buggy release the game was rated a 7 out of 10 in several gaming magazines. no marketing is better than BAD marketing... ( just like your credit scores ) i also heard that Monolith was not interested in developing any further MMOs due to the costly miscalculation by their executives.... i mean their head figure is not in monolith anymore. the person left to start up a feature production company.... EDIT: why do you think they bundled dc universe and mxo to SOE? transfering the devs from swg to mxo will not happen anytime soon... like i said... teh only 'new content' mxo will get is repolished ingame features in a different way( shadow phoenix pill) stealing inhouse devs isnot cool. i know my heart skipped a beat when i heard they were takin walrus norepro to the agency... which by the way... pyraci's sachiko art looks very the agency.... i$0.02
