Where the issue of canon is concerned, in my opinion, we can't really comment on it until we see whether it plays out in the storyline. For all we know, this party may have been the beginning of Effy ramping up his extravagance/recklessness when it comes to manipulation of code, something which could very well get him into a very sticky situation somewhere later down the line. If this happens, would the recent party/event then be considered canon?

Obviously this is just pure speculation on my part, and its not something I expect to happen, but hey, we don't know whats down the line; and we can't exactly expect Rarebit to begin posts such as this with "Hey, I know this all looks random, but i promise you that in a month or so, everything will be made clear".

As far as the event itself goes, Im extremely pleased it turned out the way it did, and would like to thank SOE for their assistance in putting it together, as well as everyone who showed up to help us kick start SI's programme of anniversary celebrations.

((Hmmz... Now let's compare the 7.1.3 live events so far.... Syntax gets a party (which was great, nothing to say about that) but ehh... Recursion AGAIN gets a turning point in the entire storyline in this game...

Makes our little Syntax party a bit lame doesn't it? Now my question is... how much longer should we Syntaxies tolerate this since this keeps happening over and over and over again... And I know this has been discussed many times, about how the devs seem to favor one server over another, but I believe these events make the difference even more clean.

Now tell me devs, how the *bleep* can you guys compare a party with an entire plot line unraveling! I believe yo guys have something to make up for... BIGTIME

Now the next thing that I never quite understood was: how can some things happen on one server, and not on another... The instances should be kept seperate! Meaning that the same kind of events should be happening on all severs, and if possible on the same time... How else can a storyline ever be correct... Cryptos is dead (or whatever happened to him) on recursion... but not on syntax or vector! Yes, we hold him for dead, because we have read the recursion event post, but the instances should be kept sererate! Like parallel universes or something.

Well, I guess that was all I had to say for now and I hope we can continue the syntax parties because they are awsome as always SMILEY

Just don't make an event out of a party... Keep these sort of things seperate from the storyline))

(( The Devs aren't comparing a party to story revelations. This was a player event, which was lucky enough to get Dev presence and even luckier to afterwards get mentioned in the Live Events forum.

Syntax hasn't been shortchanged when it comes to the story, either. ))

There are three Matrix instances, and one Real, one storyline. No parallel universes.

((Of course there is only one storyline... But the events should be held on all three instances, like for example with the hunt for the assassin event in the past. They can't expect from us to create a character on each server (and level it to 50), to be able to participate in all the different events that are being held. For example: what if the assassin event would only have been held on the syntax instance. Bit unfair don't you think, since everyone should have the chance to get their hands on one of those masks. Or look at Morpheus funeral, which was on all servers aswell... And now with this event, Cryptos should die/crash on all servers and they should make it public on the forums after all events have happened. Otherwise it just makes no sense.))
