Hey, just start PM'ing him for the links, this is definitely off-topic.

I was going to rant about how unfair this wall of silence is. But then I realized, if they had anything, anything at all, they would have said something. They don't. No plans, no ideas, no future. It is now crystal clear that the Matrix Online, as we have known it these past 4 years, is at an end.

For the life of me, I just can't fathom why they don't pull the plug. Is there a contract with Warner that requires them to keep it running for a certain period? Are the executives really so stupid as to keep a game that worsens their brand reputation? Are the producers blowing smoke up the executives a**es with reports that "MxO is doing just fine, no need to look behind the curtain"?

Heh. . .heheheh. A funny thought. What if it would cost them more money to turn the game off than if they just let it run? How ironic would that be?

Let me try and explain it to you again cause apparently you can't keep up.

First of all I am going to explain the bible was not originally in English, Jesus never spoke in English. The bible is a translation from another language. So don't take it perfectly literally.

Now apparently you seem to be irate cause there is a vendor named "The Omega", cause, according to your flawed logic, that means he is God. This is taken from your misconception of the biblical passage where Jesus says "I am the Alpha and the Omega". Which is to say "I am the beginning and the end" (Alpha and Omega being the first and last letters of the Alphabet). This is to try emphasise his importance to all things in the world. Jesus even backs up this point by saying right afterwards "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end".

You have translated this sentence to mean "I am God, you may call me 'The Alpha' or The 'Omega'". This is flat out untrue and wrong. God is known as "The beggining and the end" or "The Alpha and the Omega" if you wish to use more traditional terms. I have never seen him referred to as specifically "The Alpha" or "The Omega" alone. He is always referred to "The Alpha AND the Omega", that entire sentence.

Your name "Yahweh", is quite literally another word for God. You may aswell have gone and called your character God and cut out the middleman. This is why your name was changed but "The Omega" wasn't, because unless you are stupid and misinterpret the bible on an epic scale no one is going to take you seriously when you complain "The Omega" means god.

Now would you PLEASE drop this issue, move on with life, and spare us all from your pointless, pointless complaints.

It's like some of this community has simply reverted to Playschool (kindergarten) mentality. Reality Check and grow up please.

Back on topic: Personally I think SOE should get someone in to wrap up chapter 12 in accordance with Rarebit's plan or possibly wrap up the whole Oligarch story, or at least where they finish having a major role in the story and then leave it. I hate things being left like this. Still, we have to accept what we have.

I wonder what the Anniversary is going to be like. I'm betting no different from last year meaning no new items. Wonder if an intern will take on the role of Smith for the last hunt or perhaps we wont get one.

You can't worsen a reputation of a game that no one really knows exists.

No, you're missing the point. My name was changed 2 years after the fact by what Walrus clearly told me were people he knew for a fact were just trying to create problems in the community. I still have the posts. That was 2 years ago. I've been quiet about it for 2 years, even though groups like Tetragrammaton, etc. were allowed to keep their names. Now this comes up and quite frankly, it pisses me the hell off.

Now, since you obviously weren't reading my post, I wasn't flaming Walrus about it, I was stating my point and thanking him for taking the time to address the issue.

And if my pointless, pointless complaints are a problem to you, no need to worry. In a couple more weeks, my accounts will be closed. All 3 of them.

The Tetragrammaton is Greek for "the four letters". Even though those four consonants make the name of God, Tetragrammaton doesn't mean God, it's a description of those four consonants. So well done for getting pissed of at something irrelevant, both back then and now because of an NPC names after a Greek letter. Hope it was worth it.

Oh and Tetra didn't get to keep their name when it was reported, they had it re-instated after losing it. So comparing your previous IGN to that is complete BS.

True, but I wasn't really talking about this game. I would think they would at least care about the SOE brand.

If you say so. Don't presume to understand my background. I come from a background where even using a byword is the equivalent of saying the word. If you're going to use a term that passes for it, you might as well be referring to the same thing.

At any rate, I've said my piece. If anyone wants to debate it further, they can do so in PM for as long as I'm around.

Thanks again, Walrus, for taking the time to address the subject but unfortunately, this time it's not good enough.

I just want to publically say my thoughts on the religious name issue.  Unlike the majority of the SOE catalog, MxO has strong connections with both philosophy and religion.  I don't believe that anyone should have been forced to change their name or faction name once SOE took over.  That said, I understand why it happened.  SOE took their current policies and applied them to MxO.  It should be a "family game" according to their approach.  I sincerely doubt that any special consideration was ever given in this case with relation of the Matrix Franchise and its methodology.  Bottom line, we are SOE's red-headed step-child.  We are what they got stuck with when they "married" DCO.

I don't know about you guys, but I feel more like Nero, fiddling away as it all burns down around us. DCO will crash and burn just like every other IP SOE has put its uncaring paws on. And I'll have me a right good chuckle when it happens.

I just absolutely hate it that this update is our swan song.
