She didn't do this often.  She hated even being here.  The
metal walls, the ruddy bed, everything about the place was cold, but it
was all they had.  Lady Return layed on her poorly stuffed bed in
her room inside of the growing "Outpost Styx" complex.  Styx was
one of those places where people who didn't agree with Zion went.
It was owned and operated by her faction, the Devil's Advocates, and
technically she had a right to be involved with the construction and
operations of it, but she didn't want that.  No, Return was sick
of leadership.

She rolled over angrily, as the bed was not suiting her needs.
What she wouldn't give for a four poster bed in the Matrix right
now!  But all the doctors said she had to disconnect, at least for
a little bit.  Even Rhaokoth told her to get out for a little bit
and walk around Styx, and usually Rhao agreed with her.

Walking wasn't her style, however, and she went from the jack-in
chambers to her cabin almost immediately.   People waved to
her, bowed to her, and saluted her when she passed, and all she offered
was nothing more than a head nod back.  She didn't feel good, and
she didn't want to be bothered.

You see, Lady Return was one of those people who looked extremely
similar to her RSI.  She never believed in masking her identity,
she wanted people to know who she was at all times, and to either hate
her for what she's done, or respect her deeply for what she's
done.  She earned whatever emotion was given to her, and she
wanted it.  And as she walked down the halls with her telltale
strut, her hand casually on her hip, her blond hair ragged but still
beautiful in an odd sort of way, her large breasts bouncing softly, and
an odd smirk on her face, she wanted people to stare.  She
wouldn't have it any other way.

But now was not one of Lady Return's finer moments.  Her arms were
across her chest, struggling for warmth and comfort.  She even
curled up into a fetal position and cryed at one point, because of the
pain in her chest and the coldness gripping her body.  She tossed
again, trying to get some comfort out of where she was.

Before she had resorted to her bed, she had been on the ground of her
cabin before.  There, she drew a small box from under her bed, and
took out her most prized possessions.  A small toy cat, made from
metal with legs that moved, a couple of oddly and crudely formed metal
building blocks, a metal duck with wheels for legs that could be pushed
around on the ground, and the greatest thing that she owned in the real
world, a plush doll stuffed with fabrics she sneaked out from other
areas of Styx.  It was a perfect replica (as perfect as she could
get it) of her Matrix dollie, Sarah.

Return squeezed Sarah against her chest and brushed her soft body on
her face, a small gasp letting loose from her pink lips as she did
so.  She had such a trial putting Sarah together, and she went to
all lengths to do it. From getting extra fabric from the production of
clothes, to having Succabai teach her how to sew, to having Breech99
sneak some pieces of stuffing and loose fabric to her to finish the
stuffing process.  Sarah was a work of art, and it was also the
only thing that she really loved outside of the Matrix.

For 2 hours, Return sat on that floor, having Sarah's plush hands push
the duck around, construct small towers out of the blocks, and pet the
metal cat over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and hugging
Sarah for all she was worth.  Those moments were priceless to the
Lady of Lies.  Nothing else could replace them.

But that's when the pain started, and that's also when she put her
things away and crawled into bed with Sarah.  And each minute she
lie there, the pain rose one notch worse.  She had never felt
anything like it before, and she didn't know what to do.  She knew
she should have called for help, but she was a Lady!  Ladies do
not succumb so easily.

A knock came at her door.  She didn't respond to it.  The
knock came again, she still didn't respond.  The door opened
slowly, and a face poked in.

"Good evening lady, can I do anything for you?" said the kind and smiling face of Breech99.

Return tossed over again, no emotion crossing her face, even though her
pain was intense.  "No... I'm fine.  Thank you for your
offer, however."

"But Lady, you haven't eaten anything since you jacked out.  And
you need to eat something, having that IV feeding tube isn't good for
you all the time, you know."

"I know but I'm... I'm... ah..." Return stuttered.  No words could
come out of her mouth.  Her expressionless face soon turned into
one of fear, and her blue eyes quickly unfocused as she began to
hyper-ventilate.

"Return?  RETURN!  DOCTOR!  DOCTOR!" Breech
screamed.  Return began to shiver and continue to
hyper-ventilate.  Breech leaped from the doorway to her side, and
heavy footsteps began to run down the hall...

Fever Pitch, Part 2

4 weeks later... (AKA, the present...)

Return had stayed out of the Matrix for a few days two weeks ago,
especially after she had fainted at one of the Advocates' parties and
made a basic fool of herself.  And she was getting really
moody.  Really moody.  Pretty much snapping at anyone who
walked by.  And she was getting stranger by the day.... Usually
walking around, really bundled up like she was freezing almost all the
time, even though Styx was usually kept at a pretty reasonable
temperature.

People were avoiding her now, because no one wanted to be yelled at for
no reason, and everyone wanted to avoid her strangeness.  But the
good news was that she was in her room alot anymore, never leaving,
always quiet.  No one was really sure what she did in there, but
no one really wanted to know either.  They just felt as if it
wasn't their business.  The only one who was visiting on a regular
basis was Doctor Rhaokoth, and even he didn't stay long.  Until
one day...

Everyone was a little interested...  Return was screaming at Rhao
from inside her cabin, and Rhao was screaming right back.  The two
had been at it for a while, but always talking in odd half-sentences.

"...Well maybe you should tell Kabell..."

"...Well maybe you should jump off of a bridge!  How about the one that runs over Guiness Lake..."

"...Plus you can't handle this... just look at yourself!"

"I CAN HANDLE IT!"

"IF YOU WANT TO DIE, YOU'LL HANDLE IT!  LISTEN TO ME, **bleep** IT!!"

That was the point where Rhao stomped out of her cabin and slammed the
door, taking a deep breath as he got outside.  There was a small
crowd gathered from the Advocates, their screaming had been heard by
quite alot of people.  Rhao just gave everyone a "Go back to what
you were doing" look, and walked off in a rush.

--------------------

A few hours later...

Return emerged from her cabin, looking a little more weary than
usual.  She was even more bundled up than normal, and she didn't
even close the door behind her.  She walked like she was on rails,
staring forward and not looking where she was really going.  It
was almost like there was no mind behind her eyes, no processes of
thinking inside of her head.

She walked like this all the way to the Styx leadership room, where she
flung open the door and stared directly at Kabell, who's face
twinged.  He really didn't feel like dealing with her now... and
he particularly didn't like the current expression on her face.

"Please come in Return... what can I do for you?" he asked, even though
she was already inside of the room and right in front of his desk.

Return stood there for a moment, looking more omnious than ever, but
then something inside of her snapped.  Her eyes went from cruel to
saddened, and tears began to stream down her face.  Kabell was
shocked.  No one had seen her cry... ever.

"Return... is there something wrong?" he kindly asked, standing up from
his chair.  Return's response wasn't there, she just continued to
cry in front of him.  "Is there something I could do for you,
Return?" Kabell continued, bewildered.

Return removed the baggy shirts and garments from her body leaving only
her tight shirt on her person, revealing her form.

Kabell's jaw dropped and eyes went wide.  "You're... you're... five months along...."

Fever Pitch, Part 3

"It's back to waddling around Styx for me tonight.  Good night
Advocates," she said, as WGShadowRogue led Lady Return up to the Tabor
Park East hardline.

The Lady of Lies and Treachery had visibly mellowed out over the last
few days, with the sudden acceptance of who she was, what had happened
to her, and what she must do.  It was very odd for her, and she
did not like it as much as the next person.  When she wrote that
letter and broadcasted it out over the general channels, she also did
not take much comfort in sending it.  It showed too much weakness
in her opinion, and she was not the Lady of Weakness.  But for her
children.... she would do it for them.

To show her new demeanor, each night she has taking an enjoyable walk
into Tabor Park to feed the pidgeons with ShadowRogue and Anubis from
the Advocates in tow as her bodyguards and companions.  She
actually took great liking to sitting down and speaking with them, as
it was finally a moment where business did not matter and she could be
more, well... unstressed.  That was something she was never really
anymore.... unstressed.  There was always a problem... but now,
she didn't have to deal with it.

Instead she had her walks, her blissful chats, and business totally off
of her platter.  And as the jack slipped out of the back of her
head, Return had a lovely smile on her face...

...that lasted a grand total of 4 seconds.

The usual grimace revealed itself as she got up from the chair slowly,
rubbing her stomach.  Her pregnancy was not very kind.
Especially since she had been jacking out every day, something very
unsual for her.  Before, she would spend hours, days, even weeks
on end in the Matrix because she wanted to.  So as she kept
growing larger, she didn't notice.  All she knew was that her RSI
was in top form both athletically and sexually, and that's all that
mattered.  But getting off of that chair everyday was getting
worse.  She was finally carring around the weight of what was
inside of her, and even though she was only 4 months along, the three
babies found ways to take up quite alot of room and make her look more
like 7, even maybe 8 months.

Plus, her eating habits... Since she wasn't in the Matrix all the time,
hooked up to her food tube, she finally joined people at the mess
hall.  And sure, the glop sucked, but what the hell, it was
food.  And even sometimes, she was finding she was CRAVING the
glop.  She heard of women craving odd things in pregnancies... but
that glop?  Who in the hell would have considered ANYONE in their
right mind would want that crap.  But then again, she wasn't in
her right mind, was she?

Her feet hit the floor and the center of gravity was ruined.  She
was heavy enough now where it still kinda put her off from walking
properly, especially from the changes from the Matrix to the
real.  She was a master artist, in her opinion, of her RSI.
So far, she had been able to keep recoding it to keep it from revealing
her true form.  So, while she looked horrible in the Real, she
still looked completely stunning in the Matrix.  And she was
keeping in that way.

But as she wandered through the hallways of the midnight hour that
night, through the metal corridors to her cabin, the same thought kept
hitting her over and over again.  "Who really was the father?"

When she told people she didn't know, they laughed at her.  They
seriously though she was just using her normal odd humor.  But,
truly.... she didn't know.

If she did her math right, and she was really 4 months along like Rhao
predicted, then Styx was just opened when she was knocked up.
That means, she would have been in her chair, jacked into the Matrix
almost constantly.  It would have been easy for any member of the
Devil's Advocates, or even a visiting Merovingian affiliate to walk
into the chamber... and...

She shuddered at the thought.  Some sick little puppy doing that to her?  That really is just wrong.

But, then another thought occurred to her.... The HvCFT Devildog... That night....

---------------------

"Thank you for bringing me aboard, Captain..." Return said, stepping into Fenshire's cabin and closing the door behind her.

"You don't have to do that, Return.  I know you will be an
excellent addition to the Trust.  You already proved yourself very
worthy with the Advocates.  It's a shame.... how they treated
you...  We will treat you much better here, on the Devildog and in
the Trust," Fenshire replied, smiling at his newest crewmember from his
position, lying on his bed.

"No... I really appreciate it... No one has shown me this much respect, or has trusted me this much..."

"Well... I'm glad you picked me when you wanted to come back to
Zion.  I'm not sure what any other captain would have said.
But, I'm glad you trusted me... Speaking of which... why did you trust
me?"

"I knew how well you performed in Zion, Captain..."

"Please, don't call me Captain, Return... you can call me Fenshire."

"Well... Fenshire... I knew that you performed well in Zion... and...
there was something about you... something I really liked... Something
that told me you were a person I could really trust and who would
really listen to me..."

She walked forward towards Fenshire, seductively.  At first, she
could tell Fenshire didn't notice what she was doing.  But then,
as she got closer, his eyes began to show he was understanding.
She kept cooing her praises to him as she leaned down to the bed and
put her hand behind her back.

"And that's why, Captain Fenshire.... I came to you..."  She was
right in front of his face now, with her full pink lips.  Her hand
made a quick motion, and the unmistakable sound of a bra being undone
was heard.

"Oops," she cooed.

---------------------

Her face turned bright red.  The realization hit her square in the
face like a full force dim-mak strike.  She began to shiver as she
gripped the metal wall for support.  Her breathing accelerated,
and her pupils reduced in size.

"THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR SPYING!!! THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR MY RE-ADMISSION TO THIS PLACE!!! BULL**bleep**!!!! BULL**bleep**!!! I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!! MY CHILDREN ARE NOT ZIONISTS!!!!" she screamed at the top of her lungs.

Her legs quivered more, and the last thing she heard was the
unmistakble sound of someone calling her name as she collapsed to the
ground.
