DEBATE~!

Also discuss in your own opinion what do you think the cause for liason inactivity is and what should be done about it.

Doesn't really make much sense. Liaisons need to be online to level, and they'll most likely be online levelling right before an event rolls around. See: Vogt. They also level with players.

However, if they don't need to level, then I guess they can... sit at (RP hardline)? Or PvP at Mara.

But if they don't show up to their own events or show up to pick their event days then they just shouldn't be liaisons. So I don't think insta-levels will improve liaison activity.

Agreed, Tenshi!

Liasons come and go and the ones that are still around are stuck in grinding limbo. The ones that hit lvl 50 thus enabling them to be more productive on all fronts in the liason department practically had to throw their original characters aside to collect dust.

Half may agree that a liason doesn't need to be lvl 50 to be a good liason but to the disgruntled what good is a lowbie liason if they can't even email and inform their organization of possible upcomming events etc...

It's a diseased cycle:

1.Player A is selected to be a liason = It's celebration time b@#@%@#!

2.Player A begins taking on liason duties. They:
  A. Are introduced on the forums.
  B. The majority of the players from their organization have no confidence in the new liason from the start because they know where the road ends.
  C. New liason is taunted by high level players from other organization.
  D. Is powerleveled by volunteers from their organization... then eventually find it hard to get help the more they grind.
  E. Grinding til the level 20s then the DREADED GRINDING FATIGUE sets in.... they stop and think, "this is too much work... I already have a lvl 50."
  F. Remembers that they still have a character to play besides their liason.
  G. They start playing their original character again while quickly losing desire to play their liason LOWBIE SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" />
  H. They detach from their liason... maybe log on here and there but eventually leave some rp post about departing or get killed off due to the players from their org growing more and more pissed off due to their inactivity.

THE END.

Some may say a liason's purpose isn't to fight and that they don't need to fight but anyone can be diplomatic...all you have to do is just log into dn1 and jabber about stuff in rp and its a done deal.

I can count on one hand the few liasons that hit 50 and are very productive as liasons but their original characters are rotting with neo SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" />

That's just my personal opinion because the most active liasions I've seen are level 50.  Take Fuscienne or Hiagen for instance.  They'll log on at least 5 times a week and most of the time just to pvp, hang out, talk to the palyers in their org etc.

I see it as: If they was going to be active, they'd be active. Rolling them into higher levels would not do much.
But, if they don't turn up to tell players of up-coming events. One word: Boot.

god *CENSORED* rarebit can be such a troll sometimes.

also, a liaison is someone who negotiates. What's the difference between talking as a level 1 and a level 50? The level 50 can kick some *CENSORED* while talking? Lazy Liaisons are lazy. I mean they're already getting a spawn tool. SMILEY<img src=

Looking to debate or discuss the cause of liason inactivity.

Read between the lines. Grinding fatigue kills more liasons than a crackhead's crackpipe SMILEY<img src=" />

At level 50 they will do what? PvP? Liaisons can get on their main and PvP. I don't see the big difference. The only thing it might be useful for is just getting around without NPCs being a nuisance, but Rarebit just dev teleports them anyways, so eh.

My first impression when the LESIG 2.0 was announced was: This doesn't seem like it'll work out in the long run.

And here's my thinking. This is what I thought should have been the terms. (Although a bit of a dictator way of things, still seems to be the best solution)

1.) By accepting your role as a liaison officer, you are forfeiting your already established main character. Your LESIG character will now be your main character.
2.) Secrets about who you are won't be an issue, this seems to be problematic since you aren't suppose to know who your liaison is.
3.) If you don't login at least once a month, you will be stripped of your LESIG spot.
4.) Three liaison per org per server, all whom live in different time zones to ensure liaison activity through-out the day.
5.) You get to choose an org you are interested in being a part of.

These rules make more sense to me, for a liaison to be motivated to play. Yeah, there are some flaws and some details that could be worked out, and who knows maybe this is worse off than we already are. That's just my take on it.

Once a month?  If that goes in conjunction with rule 1, you're being a bit lenient.  Three times a week would be my minimum.
