Phew. I really don’t know where to start with this one. I’m not even really sure if I should start but there has to be some sort of log about what’s just happened even if it’s just for trying to get things into perspective.

If anyone reads this let me tell you that at the time I write this there are restrictions on what I can and can’t log. There are operatives whose lives would be in serious danger if any names were mentioned as well as trouble with various factions if our parts are revealed too much.

Ok. So, what can I tell you? Firstly there was an image that my operator, Rapid, found in his inbox. It had come from Zion Command with a note to be wary of any suspicious activity. I really think that they’re missing the point somewhat as suspicious activity is all that seems to take place in this digital world, the real world too for that matter.

The image was of a part of the matrix that neither of us could pin down. I had spoken with my closest captain friends. I suppose that I can name them here as it’s no big secret who they are; Mandlebrot, TiltedAxis and, of course, PhrogXiX who seems to be making quite a name for himself these days. We had agreed to join our forces together, to become a more united force for the cause of Zion and to that aim we were meeting in a secret location in Eschean.

While we were discussing our new group and trying to co-ordinate our aims Phrog received a call from one of his contacts in the machine faction who for just those reasons above can’t be named came to us with a problem. The problem being… well, I’m not even sure that I can even talk about that either but regardless we ended up staking out several Cypherite operatives in Tabor Park.

They were meeting with a man whose name we had gathered through Intel was Mafamaskio. When we got there this man Mafamaskio and his Cypherite contact were busy talking. Unfortunately we couldn’t really get too close thanks to the Cypherite’s cronies keeping watch from rooftops.

What we were able to ascertain was surprising to say the least and there is a lot of double-dealing and back stabbing going on here as well as death threats were mentioned against some very serious people. It looks like this cold war is about to enter an ice age and I am not happy about it. Heh, but then again whenever have I been happy about anything?

At the moment that’s as much as I can log about that part of events here but a secure copy of my official report is in Zion now. I know that these logs are encoded and encrypted up the *CENSORED* but there’s still the fact that any signal could pick these up. It used to be machines scouring the pipes that we had to worry about, now it’s each other. The world sure ain’t like it used to be.

Anyway, back to the picture. I was sat in my cabin, just like now, pouring over that and some of the other Intel and orders from Zion and I was exhausted. The mixture of an early watch and all the excitement of the previous day were starting to take their toal. I’d decided to give the rest of the paperwork a miss and just crash in my bunk and as I was lying there something clicked.

I’d been thinking about the day before and Tabor when something hit me. I grabbed the photo and sure enough, who was stood in the background of this thing? The Chess Man. He never leaves his **bleep** board so the location HAD to be Tabor Park. After discussing this with Mandlebrot and PhrogXiX we decided to check it out, PhrogXiX and myself took the park while Mandlebrot kept a close eye on the roofs.

It was empty save that daemon gang. Punks, that’s all they are just punks. They are about as good at being tough as Anome is. If he reads that I think that’s me off the preferred mission lists for a while. I’m digressing.

PhrogXiX and I took a stroll near the chess man who was playing himself as usual. We stopped by the statue in the park, the one with the faded plaque that probably came from a previous iteration of the matrix. While we were stood there, Mafamaskio for want of a better phrase appeared behind us. Much of the discussion that we had with him has to be kept quiet here but here’s what I can log.

Firstly he appears to be involved with an upcoming concert in the park, which has been nicknamed “A Piece of Blue Sky” whatever that is supposed to mean. He claims to be in the concert as a banjo player. He doesn’t look like one if you catch my drift and it’s exactly that fact that sparked a great deal of interest in PhrogXiX. He was wearing a very nice bandana style mask, which according to PhrogXiX is very similar, if not exactly like the mask of two other “masked men”.

PhrogXiX has his suspicions about him and if he’s right then it looks like we could all be in some serious danger. God dammit, it seems like every time things start to calm down and look like things are balancing something new comes along and blows the whole thing to hell. If someone reads this and has access to the council secure systems then they’d know the rest of the whole story but this is far too sensitive to go into any more detail.

I have a number of things to discuss with my other captains as well as back home with Deadbolt and the council but the road we’re going down is a dark one indeed.

I pray that PhrogXiX is wrong.
