Do you think Neo would have become the one if he had NOT eaten "cookies" from the oracle?

Ok, we learned food are like trojans in the matrix. ( Reloaded Scene with Frenchman and his coded cake for that woman ). And we saw neo took food from the oracle.

What do you think?

Neo had always been the one, it was the realization that he was that made him so.  A cookie is always a cookie.  And Neo was always the one.  Much like a dream that you are surrounded by a psuedo reality, if you realize that you are dreaming, you gain infinite power since your mind knows no boundaries.

lol... sounds like : just a cookie.

Turn of your Firewall and accept all cookies, surf around a while and you´ll see what a cookie can do.

...have you noticed that in the beginner-cinematic when the player meets the oracle in the ego-perspective the player denies the offer for a cookie from the oracle? :smileywink:

I'm probably not alone here, but I don't think the cookie was the deciding factor.  The Oracle, with her cryptic messages and hidden meanings, helped push Neo down a certain path because that is her purpose.  To gauge the human psyche.  But whenever a fork in the road appeared, it was up to Neo to make the choice for himself.

All throughout the movie, Neo is constantly making choices.  Red pill or blue pill.  Hit or miss.  Jump or fall.  Live or die.  The choices that Neo makes, eventually lead to his death.

I might be reading a bit too into this, but I have a small theory about a hint that was given in the middle of the first movie about Neo's destiny to become The One.

When Morpheus takes Neo to see The Oracle, they are standing outside her apartment.  Morpheus says:

"I can only show you the door.  You have to walk through it."

Neo reaches for the door knob, but the door is suddenly opened by someone else.  A woman.  A woman literally opens the door for Neo.

At the end of the movie, another door is opened.  The door that determines if Neo lives or dies.  But it is not Neo who opens the door as we are lead to assume he must do.  Trinity opens it for him by professing her love for him, thus resurrecting Neo and causing him to become The One.  It was her destiny to fall in love with The One.  Her love for Neo, and Neo's capacity for love, is what created The One.

puh... uhm... i know what you mean manicvelocity and i had your thoughts earlier...uhm..my english touches it´s borders to explain this. i do my best...

I have listen to the architect dialog, the frenchmen dialogs and the oracle dialogs several times.

I understand the architect as the one who created the matrix. he explains that every choice can be pre-calculated up to a small percentage. And he explains that the oracle is the program who knows how to handle this small percentage.... that make me ask: how? ... and then i tried to understand the reloaded frenchman dialog.... talking about causality over and over... and then this cake.... he tries to say explain something.... but what?...... then i reviewed the oracle scenes and noticed the cookies...

and the trinity-love thing?.... after all i bet she had a cookie when the oracle said she will fall in love with the one.

Neo's ascension was inevitable.  All he had to do was accept it.  And he did.  And it happened.

Had nothing to do with the cookies, Neo was just a normal red pill,
however, he had to think he was the one, any red pill could be the one.
for if you belive it, it is so.

Besides if it was the cookies we'd all be super redpills in game by now :smileywink:

He didn't become the One.  He was given the title.

The cookie was the key to open the world for Neo.

perhaps there were something to those cookies after all.

there was something to the Merovingian's chocolate cake, right? maybe
baked goods play an important role in the matrix. i know they do in my
life.

The cookies and candies are symbols of his dependence of her and her role as the Oracle.  When he no longer accepted the cookie/candy, she told him the truth.   Why?  Because he was ready for it.  You guys really should dig into the "Code that Neo carries" thread.  There's a lot to learn on that subject.

I doubt being The One has anything to do with baked goods, and, while it seems that cookies can do the same...things...to your RSI as they can to your computer, i think Morpheus already said that Neo was The One, it had nothing to do with what the Oracle put in her oven that day.

(Granted, the cookie probably did something, just not that)

/revitilize thread 3.0 SMILEY

Magic cookies are for Neoism! Don't you ever pay attention? Eat a cookie and you can fly. Eat a second and you can own Agents. Eat a third and strange, yet happy things happen in the Real. Eat a fourth and colourful butterflies a la Cowboy BeBop will follow you around.

Eat a fifth and I can show you the magical door to the Neverland of Squirrels.

I'm not allowed to say what happens if you eat a sixth.

From Wikipedia:

During the film the Oracle is seen showing Sati how to bake cookies. It has been speculated that the Oracle's cookies are actually representations of special Matrix-codes she makes (The Merovingian is capable of "programming" his own 'special' piece of cake that gave a woman an orgasm when she ate it). Thus the Oracle could have activated some new level of function and understanding in Neo when she gave him a cookie (and later a candy). Therefore the scene with Sati being taught this may imply that she is being kept by the Oracle not just to hide, but as a protege.
