The aptly named mistress of Ikebukuro, Sunshine, grows uneasy over the turn the weather has taken since the Child's removal. While I'm more interested in sunsets than sunrises, I do of course realize they are two sides of the same coin--a coin that has at least temporarily lost some of its luster.

For once, I may agree with such an Exile as Malphas... Though the Exile "Sunshine's" implacable, constant... "pep"... Is a human trait that is worrisome when displayed so consistently through a program.

Furthermore, we will meet with these members of the faction known by the alias of "Divine Apathy" and assess their strange new presence and purpose in the Matrix.

((Ok, here's a real bugger: If she controlled and maintained energy back in the real war, the solar energy, she should have become abudant after the sky hsa been scorched. So what? How could she survive deletion? There didn't exist the Matrix, yet, to flee too.
Either way, another event I missed.))

That was a pretty decent event, wish I'd been there - it would have been nice to meet sunshine, it was fun doing her missions, and any exile that says "race you" is very high in my estimation!! It was good that the operatives managed to wrangle extra info out of Sunshine about her past, quite often opportunities to find out such things end up getting passed over in these events. Also good to look at the possible implications for the loss of Sati on the system - the General did say he wanted to bring the Matrix down, perhaps Sati is his way of doing it.

good stuff

And godgiver - I don't think Machines just delete programs straight away, they probably spend a while assesing them etc. - plus they also need to create replacement programs for the new/adapted role so sunshine would have still been around while they made new programs to get enrgy from their new source and then created the Matrix, giving her opportunity to escape once it had been set up. Also back then the Machines had only just managed to secure victory, before then they were a nation under threat of war and deleting their own programs wasn't high on the agenda - it wasn't until they had set themselves up as lords of the earth that they could begin deciding which of their loyal servants they didn't need anymore!

That's a lot of torches... all the better to see in the dark with I suppose.

The General does desire to tear down the Matrix. With the accumulated greenness left over from the Unlimits and unknown effects of Sati's removal from the Matrix... it may not cause an immense problem for exiles and redpills. Bluepills on the otherhand might start rejecting things if it all get's too weird. And like the row of dominoes mentioned I guess a large rejection of the simulation couls start a cascade effect that causes more weird side effects, causing more rejections until there is too little power to support the Simulation.

Things could go pearshaped rather quickly.
