Ok now we all know that single gun styles are just the same as the self Defense and martial art tree's you stick with the same style for 40 levels. What I'd like to see maybe happen for the level 33 buffs is something a little different which maybe could be implemented for all 3 Gun and 3 MA tree's to spice up the whole animation Side of things (Of course I'm not actually going to ever see this happen unless we get an animator and probably a complete combat revamp but meh.)

Ok When you reach level 33 the ability gives you a completely new style of combat for that particular tree, you still use the same basic weapon/style but because you have the level 33 ability loaded it overrides the usual animations and gives a different, more complex style of combat. This obviously is borderline new animations but it isn't new tree's and so it just adds without any overpowered effects ect. I only originally had this in mind for the Duelist tree but thinking about it, it's a little unfair on the other Soldier trees so pretty much the styles just need to be more advanced, kinda like an unexperienced fighter might just go shooting guns blazing, an experienced fighter will do the same stuff, with more accuracy and more flair. My idea for the Handgun Artistry was that the duelist could spin the guns like Ocelot from MGS3.

Kojima probably trademarked that.

Nonetheless, it's a cool idea.  More powerful/complex moves would add a lot of variety to the combat, though I think they should include a mix of old and new.  After all, if they switched it at level 33 to a completely new set of animations, all the pvp at level 50 would see only the new animations, never the old.

I love this idea, and I make sure to state my support every time it, or something like it, comes up.  Well, one "simple" way to do this would be to use the moves that got removed after CR2 came into being.  All of those disarms, advancing attack animations and *gasp* off wall kicks would be good additions to a standard arsenal of moves, and they would certainly make things look a little more complex and more flashy for the higher level characters.

The best part?  All of those animations already exist and so none of them would need to be animated from scratch so it's something that might actually maybe be possible... maybe.

I would support base animation changes, especially in interlock, to show the experience/level of the person, but I don't think adding extra abilities (even though there are a few I'd love to see) or powerful moves would be very welcome as it would unbalance what we already have. What would be needed to implement them would be CR3

As I stated before we aren't adding abilities, we are just changing the animation if a certain ability is loaded, in this case, the level 33 abilities.

I know, I was just commenting on the 'More powerful/complex moves' statement made by Fatmop, unless he meant more show-offy in which case I got the wrong end of the stick and apologise! I'd love to see advanced versions of standard moves! SMILEY

Remember what 9mmfu said, SoE was understaffed so to say for that department, so unless you go up there and do it yourself, there won't be many new animations.

Dark as much as its appreaciated that you posted twice on this single page thread to say that there is no animator Pack did actually state that in his initial post.

Hmm....this just made me wonder:

Shin's probably right that a lot of moves could be recycled, possibly even slightly tweaked to look newer.  But would anything completely new require going to the trouble of motion capture?  That'd certainly be cost-prohibitive...

Yeah, anything truly new would likely require motion capture and/or an actual animator, which as we all know isn't going to happen.
