Hi I just started this game last night, so far so good. But Im wondering is there any difference in which server you play on? Like are there certain servers that will work better for certain regions ? I live In southeast US, and the reason I ask is I started playing on Syntax server I was playing late last night I when the server load was low and the game ran perfect, Now today I have tried playing when the load shows medium and the lag is almost unbearable, it takes me 2-3 times or more sometimes just to walk thru a door. I got the impression from the game launcher that it is possible to transfer your character from one server to another? How would I go about doing this, becuase so far everytime I have logged on Recursion load is low so I would like to try transferring from syntax to recursion, and really do not want to have to start all over again, although I would really prefer to play on the most populated server but not if it maks the game run horrible. Any way thanks in advance for any help and hope to meet ya in the matrix. Would be happy to here from any other new players, or vets for that matter. Thanks a lot and good luck to all.

Stay on Syntax, if you want people to interact with thats your best bet. Sorry about the lag, you'll get used to it :p And no, you can't transfer characters. Sorry : / But leveling up doesn't take too long, so if you want to give Recursion a spin just start grinding there.

You may want to check and be sure that your PC meets the minimum requirements for the game since it does use alot of RAM. Syntax is the most populated server right now. Unfortunately there isn't a character transfer option in MxO, but you can create up to 9 characters. Recursion has a lower population which might be easier for your PC to handle.

I have a 2.9 ghz cpu, 1.2 gb ram soon to be 2 gb, and nvidia 5500 with 256 mb ram, and dsl connnection, so It should run pretty smooth i would think, thats well over minium rquirements, right now the game is running fine but my time its 3 am, which was around the time i played last night, this time of night tho it runs great, just when its i guess peak hours on the server it is really RALLY sluggish, and i set it for max framerate/performance but still when server is at moderate population it is just insanley laggy,  I usually play anarachy online which has a lot more people usually than ive seen in this game so far, although ive only been playing 2 days lol, but still it runs great on there and any other online games i play.  But like i said this time of night its fine, just sux if im gonna hve to wait till  this time to play to get a decent ping rate.  I notice tho on the game launcher  where you can choose servers  move the mouse over  the status part where it says "open" it lists a variety of different status and one part says  "Char In transit "  your character is currently being transferred to another server and is currently locked "  I mean it doesnt show that for my character but it is a possible status.  So I take it that that must just be for when servers were merged , or something of that nature?  I was hoping there was a command to transfer.  So tho the servers are all made for any region? There is no one that is better than another depending on where you live?  Well thanks again every1. Gonna get back to game for now,  SMILEY

Welcome Rasta,  the problem your haveing with the lag might be 3 issues.

1) DSL is slower then cable so maybe try cable?

2) get a better graphic card, like a cheap Nvidia 7600 gs or something like that.

3) get your 2 gig ram

shouldn't have any problems after that. good luck

My PC's a little slower, So I know where you're coming from. I think if you have your draw distance and detail level as high as it can go, your pc is choking when there are lot of people around (even if you can't see them, your pc may still be rendering them) If you lower your draw distance you might not have as many problems.

By the by, I play on recursion and would welcome new players if you decide to switch.

Also be sure to check that your video card and audio drivers are up to date
