The numeric counter that used to appear next to the "Private Messages" link at the top of the forum pages was disabled by SOE's forum team in yesterday's forum maintenance period. This means that if you receive a new PM, you will see no indication of it on the forum unless you actually go into your inbox and scroll to the bottom.
If you need notification of new forum Private Messages while the counter is disabled, you may want to set the "Send e-mail when a private message is sent to me" option in your forum "My Profile" page to "Yes."
