Shouldnt be possible in the way that it is being used.
Primary example: Player A has operative down to sneak, and then loads his hacker trees. He enters the stealth state and then touches off logic cannon 2.0. He stays in sneak the entire time, boom your hit.
Why this needs to be fixed/shouldnt be possible: When you touch off sneak, you will notice the system box gives you a message about not having spy style loaded, technically you shouldnt be able to be in sneak, however because you can load sneak without loading spy style, the move will still go through putting you into the sneak state. Again, because you do not have spy style loaded, you continue to use whichever style you had running, in the case of Player A, hacker style. Because your style never switches, hitting the logic cannon 2.0 does not break stealth.
Easiest way to fix this: Make Spy style a prerequesite for sneak, not a parallel ability. Player will still be able to use sneak in conjunction with other trees, but not abuse it by touching off abilitys while entirely under the concealment of stealth. The two most widely used abilitys in conjunction with sneak is the sneak-rez and the sneak-logic cannon. Sneak should put you into spy style, and switch styles will break sneak.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Sneak hackers have been around since CR1 and they need to stay. I don't use the loadout unless i'm really bored, but cmon. Would you rather get LC2 with a decent chance to deflect that and subsequent attacks? Or get interlocked, punted, and have five knives in you in under 10 sec?
Sneak Hacker is not an Uber loadout. Its a support class at best. And it's way less annoying than the Sneak > Suplex > Ki Charged Foot Sweep combo (which I also feel is legit, cause that combo never works all the time.)
And if the powers that be decide that the tree is a legit combination, then they can "fix" it by removing the error message. However as it stands right now I've brought up an valid bug
See, I see the situation backwards. In CR 1, it was never a problem to have Sneak loaded with something else. Then, when CR2 came out, that was broken. When they split the abilites (i cant remember why they did that atm), it fixed it back to how it should be.
There is a flaw in the workaround they had to use for the bug that was screwy.
Losing that many memory points for sneak - screws any other load. You might hit with the cannon2 - but it would do a percentage of proper LC2 damage. Less than a staggering throw or sniper shot.
The error message is a flaw -but not a big one.
NightTrace is indeed correct. If you do not have Spy Style loaded, you get the error message of "You do not have this ability loaded.", yet you are still able to Sneak. If you do have it loaded, you're automatically shifted to Spy style.
Sounds like a bug to me.

Ahh, k.
To NightTrace - I never noticed that a message popped up in system chat Now I see where the bug part comes in. Sorry if I came off as abrasive, I just really think being able to load sneak with other trees is alot of fun... And as Ntrails mentioned earlier, you have to pay dearly in memory slots.
I can see why hackers do it, it gives them a chance with the extra long timer of LC2 and sneak is a perfect way to keep themselves hidden so their opponents can't hit em while their doin it. I think they should be penalized for it but as far as I'm concerned people doing that doesn't upset me non.
If anyone wants to load sneak with their build, then they're entitled to do so. I do struggle to see the point on occasion though. MA's wasting nine points of memory just to hide in pvp, comes to mind.
