Assuming that PvP will not change in structure. The devs can tie-in PvP with the mission system reputation system making PvP the pinnacle of the mission system. Hopefully, in the future, a questing system could also be included.
The devs will have to stratify the reputation system based upon what class (Viral Hacker, Spy, Proxy Coder, etc.). These separate reputation scores are then totaled for a total org reputation.
Players would then fight for reputation. And, the victor between a duel will receive the difference between player's reputation points. If player A has 20 rep hacker pts and player B 50 rep spy points...30 reputation points are on the table. 30 hacker pts for A and 20 spy points for B. This assumes balance among the classes. And, why not 30 spy points for B? I think it stays inline with the idea of that this is a game of choices. In addition, it is up to you whether you spend your points or hold on to them.
The cool part about this is you'll never know how much reputation someone has and even if you did, you wouldn't know exactly what it meant unless you knew the person, that is, someone may have a lower rep in a certain class because they just spent some of their rep points on a reward. However, in the beginning, the devs may want to put in level-based upper and lower limits,. Also, there should be an option for friendly fighting (on non-hostile servers), i.e. zero-loss fighting. Of course, in hostile, there would be no limits after 16.
Total org reputation scores can then be saved for special reputation-based missions during LEs or stratified reputation points could be used for PvP rewards. As the system is about to change, I don't know what an appropriate reward would be, however, they should as be stratified by level and class.
Would this interfere with Pandora's box? No, because as I see it, Pandora's box and the Neighborhood Missions should be melded together into one long quest (hint, hint). In the end, we would have Storyline rewards, PvP Rewards, and LE Rewards.
Would this interfere with XP and Info systems? No, it would add value to the game and people's need to level; hence gathering xp and info for PvP clothing.
What do you think?
