Your decaying archive items need to be /ccr'd not complained about repetitively here as an opportunity to flame others.

New detection shades are better than your old watcher shades.

If you don't want to take 20 minutes to get a better pair of shades that's your choice. By all means, stop wearing the shades altogether.

Same goes for the direwolf and lionskin if they go. I'll take a better common drop over a weaker rare anytime. But that's just me I guess.

Not everything changed, and that which did not change is not decayed so it is also possible that the direwolf and others may or may not change especially since downtown is already more reasonably flowed than any other district.

No way to get it back other than powering an alt eh? Don't suppose you could buy it from someone or find a lower level player to work with? No I guess that would take info, a cooperative maybe even friendly attitude or even something as simple as considering other possibilites.

Oh well, I guess you're just stuck with yourself....

Well if you're a beta player then you know all too well that the forums aren't the place to repeatedly report bugs and continue to flame people who make positive posts about an update.

If you're having a problem, I hope it gets fixed. But this ain't the way too handle it.

Great update, and i think the decay is a good thing, adds more things to do, and i agree with most others stop flaming its pointless.

as i said before great update, even if people are complaing cos they cant be bothered to get their items again, its geting better in game.

I have seen the errors of my ways. What a fool I have been for pointing out two easily fixable bugs. Update 38 is the perfect, shining pinnacle of perfection; and the devs should be held on the highest golden pedestal for ever and ever. I hope they delete all unique items. In fact I hope they delete all buffed items. It's too imbalanced. Also, please reset all charcter levels to one so we can all appreciate this magnificent reflow, shining pillar of ultimate perfection.

Especially, please reflow the International and Downtown districts. I need baby steps after level thirty, Downtown and Int'l are so dang confusing! I need a connect-the-dots path to follow, God forbid I should attempt to navigate those areas on my own. Please, devs, hear my urgent call to reflow those areas so I can have a nice, pretty connect-the-dots pattern to take my baby steps in.

ALRIGHT! I have had it up to here with you and other people's crap! Why would we be sucking up to SOE? Huh? Huh? Hey, buddy, you wanna answer this question? No? You don't have a good answer? No. Oh, okay, that's what I thought.

We are not buttkissing SOE! Just because we happen to be happy with U38 doesn't mean we think SOE is God and can do no wrong. So please and I say this in the kindest way possible keep your mouth shut about that okay?

I have complaints. I've made my complaints. I've posted them on the forums. So for you to accuse me and others of "buttkissing" just because we happen to like U38 is just completely stupid.

Ville I agree with you man. They need to sort this out, and I don't know if anyone else agrees with me but wouldn't it be a good idea to make a collector to trade the old items for the new attribute items? I almost quit (and im still considering) because of this. I had a 50 and deleted to level 3 characters to 50. I had one up to 40 with most of the items I needed, and then they went and did that. All of a sudden half of my items are useless. I'm a beta player too and I personally think its screwed. And as for people complaining about Villemars comments, this is the Update 38 discussion thread. Not the "Oh yay update 38 rules" thread. Everyone is allowed to express their positive and negative opinions. And something else you guys should consider. Richland and Westview was revamped for balance...International and Downtown will be next...Look forward to losing your dragonskins, and direwolfs. Oh and for balance Im assuming they will then revamp Pandoras box and Constructs...Bye bye sakura bandana and widows moore lenses. Until they have done this there is no point in relevelling a character or levelling at all for that matter. Any work you do is useless.

This may not be the place for that, Ex. However, I don't wanna give you any false hope, but I don't think your character is COMPLETELY deleted. I still have profiles saved on my computer for deleted characters, which I thought was interesting, but maybe you ought to ask the devs about about that. :smileywink:

Thank you oranos. It is a relief to finally hear someone who recognizes that there's a problem with Update 38 that needs to be addressed. You get it.

It will be a relief to many, I'm sure, that this will be my last post on this matter.

Let me start out by stating the many, many things I like about Update 38. The reflow of the Slums is great. Perfect for new characters. I like the whole introduction process in Uriah for brand new players! I started a new character on Syntax for that purpose (so I could get my ID Card) and went through all the collectors. By doing so you end up with +3 MCT pants and a +3 RCT shirt, which is a great help to new players and btw looks hawt on a female toon! Nice job devs.

I also like the return of bit stacking, I like the new moods on gang members. And finally the elevators work normally! Great job.

I don't have a problem with the decay rates and having to recamp unique items. Although, and here's where I vary from the unconditional cheerleaders, there were reports on non-Slums / Westview items decaying at an abnormal rate. This isn't a hallucination on my part or on others' parts. This is what I've evidenced on the boards:

Liquidz stated that his Lancet was decaying at an abnormal rate.

Sugaree expressed concern about her knowledge of others who had non-S/W unique items decaying at an abnormal rate.

N3M3SIZ stated that his Sakura Bandana, Widow's Moor Lenses, and Direwolf Coat was decaying at an abnormal rate.

I mentioned that my Peck's Shirt wes decaying at an abnormal rate.

PBlade posted that his Widow's Moor Lenses died after decaying at an abnormal rate.

I'm sure if I comb the threads I can find other examples, but I won't. So bottom line it appears that some non-S/W unique items are decaying at the wrong rate. That would be what we call a bug. I /ccr'd it and hopefully that will be taken care of.

The second thing has to do with game balance. Oaranos articulates the problem well.

All I've asked is that we have a fair playing field and have an equal opportunity to aquire the rarer of the boss drops. Some of us have real lives and can't devote ten hours a day powergrinding alt characters to email stuff to our original characters who had them in the first place (I guess we have differing opinions as to what constitutes fun). This is an easily fixable game balance issue. All we ask is that we 50's aren't banished from rarer buffed items forever. Pease don't punish us 50's who worked very hard (especially on a hostile server) to get where we are today. All we ask is for is a level playing field.

Stop. For the love of god stop. No! Stop now! Quit calling those of us who are happy with U38 crap like cheerleaders, fanboys, buttkissers, whatever the hell else you are calling us. I am not a f*cking unconditional cheerleader! I have already stated that there are bugs new and old with this patch! Now will you please shut up with the name calling!

What kind of flame is this for those of who did get second characters for this reason? Are you saying I don't have a real life just because I decided to get a second character? Wow. And you're saying that we're flaming you?

This also doesn't address the other solution that maybe you could find a low level friend.

In any case, in all your complaining you have offered one solution. And that is to request some sort of compromise. I will agree with you on this. Even though I'm okay with U38 I think it's fair to say that many aren't. And I think the devs should do something to compromise with this rather than the bomb they have apparently dropped on the high levels. And I will agree that that's what this is. A bomb. You have to admit that the devs did have good intentions for what they did. You can't honestly think they are TRYING to punish you for some odd reason. In this case, though, people do feel a blow has been dealt whether or not it's intentional. And whatever the devs had intentions for, I think when it comes to this issue they need to ease the players into it.

However, I think it's safe to say some big changes are coming and maybe in a month or so, The Matrix Online could be a totally different experience for many people, for better or for worse.
