Hopefully everyone got the emailed newsletter today. SMILEY

If not... here tis!

Welcome to The Matrix Online Community Uplink Newsletter - your quarterly source for the latest information regarding the game and its devoted players!

There's been a lot going on in The Matrix Online these past few months! We released three new content updates, added a new blog feature and continued to add twists and advance the storyline!

So read on, Operatives, to get up to speed on the latest and greatest info!

Recent Updates

Exciting new content made its debut in The Matrix Online with the release of Updates 60, 61, and 62.

Recent Updates

In Update 60, the Datamine construct was populated with some powerful new guard captains against whom you can test your mettle. Also, Dr. Martin, a new collector, was added to the Lemone neighborhood. Rumor has it he is interested in some of the items carried by the NPCs in the Datamine construct. Update 60 also has some great stuff for the higher level players. As Neo said, "Guns, lots of guns." Three hundred and forty-two level 50 Enhanced/Silenced weapon variants now drop as either rare high level critical mission or three-chevron NPC weapon loot.

With Update 61, a totally new construct called Sati's Playground was introduced. You can use special "Toy Boxes" to create and fight fanciful female ninja called "Kunoichi" in a unique floating "sky neighborhood" created by Sati. Her playground will yield a number of new ninja-themed clothing items for operatives to utilize.

Update 62 opened the next chapter in the storyline with Chapter 11 and a special FX reward item was added for players who complete all the Chapter 10 archived missions. Also, the playground vendor in the Mara neighborhood is selling a new set of "Sleepwalker" Toy Boxes for use in Sati's Playground.

Your loyal Community aficionado, Virrago, is out and about wreaking havoc in The Matrix Online! Check out his weekly new blog entitled "Virrago: Jacked In," where he documents his zany adventures exploring the neighborhoods of Mega City. To read his humorous take on life in the Matrix, watch the news section of The Matrix Online Website.

Fansite Briefing
Are you a super fan of The Matrix Online? Do you pay homage to the game by blogging about it, creating a site for it, or forming an Internet radio station around it? Well, there are players that do and they are some of the most passionate and talented around! Check out this MxO fansite below:

MxOMySpace

A talented group of players put together this site on MySpace! It features news, player made videos, fan art, and more!

Creator Comments - "I use Myspace myself, for the benefit of keeping in touch with family and friends. Using it for a long time now... and knowing how BIG it actually is, and how it can reach a large audience (not to mention how other games use it to reach people), I decided it would be the best way for me to 'give back', and draw more people into this fantastic community that IS MXO."

If you have a fan/news/media/radio station or other player-created site focusing on The Matrix Online, let us know about it by sending the information to [email protected].

Ask Virrago

Recent Updates

What's Ask Virrago? It's your opportunity to ask the Community Relations Representative for The Matrix Online the burning questions you've always wanted answered...about the game...about life...about anything... well within reason of course!! If your question strikes his fancy, Virrago will pick it to answer and dazzle you - not only with his quirky sense of humor - but his insane ability to take a Matrix Online perspective on things! So what are you waiting for? Just Ask Virrago! Post your question to Virrago in the Ask Virrago thread in the Community News Forums.

Cyclaws - What is your favorite kind of pie?

Virrago - Yummmm...Pie... pumpkin is my favorite pie. I really wish more people made it at other times of the year then the usual Thanksgiving/Halloween. But in the Matrix, I only eat the Oracle's cookies. She's dead now, though, so who knows when I'll be getting another one of those.

privaron0 - How differently did your perceptions of gaming in general change after diving full force into the industry instead of just being a consumer and fan?

Virrago - I'm sure you have seen that ad on television with the two guys playing a console game and saying, "I can't believe we make games for a living." Well, let me say...it's nothing like that at all, you actually have to work hours and hours before you get to sit and play the game you are working on. While I knew it wasn't going to be all fun and games, it is quite a bit more work and stress then I thought it would be!

Danger_Frog1471 - At the end of the day, do you have a board of names with darts to relieve stress?

Virrago - Darts? That would be totally crude and unprofessional of me...I use one of those nerf guns instead hah!

The Story Continues...

Everyone knows that in The Matrix Online story progression is king. So what's been going on lately? Well, in recent month, the mysterious "Intruders" Halborn and Carlyne have faded from the scene, although with the death of the Oracle, they won't be forgotten anytime soon. Meanwhile, every organization in the Matrix continues to seek knowledge of where in the "Real" these individuals came from.

For even more details on the constantly unraveling story, keep an eye on The Matrix Online Website for the weekly story summary articles.

Mmm, usually Verizon's especially sensitive spam filter eats my copy of it. Guess the filter wasn't very hungry today.

It is nice work, I checked my inbox but didn't get it SMILEY

My e-mail is correct in my account and last time I was able to access the e-mail settings (before the station revamp) I checked to make sure MxO was ticked. Can even check on that part now as Station.com doesn't support FireFox 3 SMILEY
