Massive Smithling spawn once he gets to each quarter of health would probably deter people, still get him low enough, but drive people away so you can get a bit of a breather to make the fight last slightly longer, IMO. It looked like you were doing that on Recursion, but were taking pretty screen shots then looked up at your sliver of health.

But I don't have much of a clue, I don't know how to do your job. I just want the Smith event to be longer than the one on Recursion was.

EDIT: You lurk and see posts instantly, so I don't know if you'll see this in time, buuuut.

Do you just take Antibiotic 5.0s, or do you have a special consumable?

  Bleh. Smith needs to be at least a little weaker than Hallivern.. you could always have two Smith Virus` at standy... one with a fairly high hp regen and another with 50% bonus or so..
  Oh, lots of antibiotics and hyper-deflect/dodge helps :p you know everyone roots you more than you get actually shot.
 Y' know.. just to be sure it lasts.... a lot of time.  :)

While the bonfire question is pertinent and intriguing, can I suggest to Rarebit not to turn everyone in an area into Smiths? I wouldn't mind it if the Smithlings or the Virus itself turned people they're attacking into Smithies but the other night we were turned by way of admin disguise so we weren't flagged and we couldn't infect anyone else... besides... some ladies might have been put off by added... equipment, note how the killshot was by a male....

Which is another point, why don't spawned smithlings (not mission Smithies) infect people? Or do they and they just avoided little old lvl 18 ViniaR?

You know what... I'm gonna say what I've been saying for like 2 years ever since I crashed just before I killed the assassin. Make those rewards for everyone. You need to create balance and as it stands now, you only have people complaining.

You need to make the really uber items so people can get them but they need to be lucky to get them. Like lets say have a really powerful npc spawn randomly once a day in the game in a different spot. Whoever gets the loot on this npc will get a token. 50 tokens and they can trade for a uber item. Then for events all you need to do is just make it so whoever wins the event gets their names on these forums and in the record books. Those that win events often will get their whole faction a cool reward like if zion wins a few events a few times in a row then they would get to team up 1 day outa the month with a LE charactor and you know have em be on their team all day doing whatever. Pvping, mining. You know how cool it would be right? To have your orgs charactor on your team helping you pwn in pvp?

Special rewards should be given but not to any one player it should be given to the org and those that want the really elite items should get it if they work really hard to do so. Now I'm sorry but that is my two cents and yea...

It's gonna happen, sooner or later the devs will see that org wide reward is much better. Players in the same org don't need to fight each other for the last kill in an event it should be the whole org is the winner and they all get rewarded with something cool. Give the ability to get the uber items that people have won in events but make them harder to get then most would even try. That way the uber players that really want those items can get them if they work hard and everyone else can just keep complaining like they will always do. But if you add org wide rewards to that you get balance and that is what the matrix needs more then anything.

Hmm...to delay the death on Vector, Rare should make like four level 85's or so that must be killed before the level 100 even appears. Kinda like how the Assassin had to be killed on all servers to ultimately die.

geez, people complaining about rewards is annoying, go do it elsewhere.  So Smith is a Fanatic Self Improver?  Makes sense I guess.  Looking forward to Monday!

Edit: Ouch, I just realized this is at 2:00 pm...which is 12:00 for me.  I have class from like 10:00 to 1:00 and then 2:00 to 3:00...I think I'm going to go vomit and cry.  I don't know why but I really thought the event was going to be later than this.  I knew it was earlier than typical event time, but not this early

Edit Part 2: I just realized that this is actually like 4:00 for me, which is great!  I really almost gave myself a heart attack.  I need to figure out those "numbers" that people keep talking about.
