So, I was cruising the other SOE games.  I've only ever played MxO, but I was curious if any of the other games would be worth getting a station pass.  I was looking at Star Wars Galaxies website, and saw they had some pretty cool stuff!

Check this out:  http://starwarsgalaxies.station.son...des.vm?id=80133

Man, how plausible would it be to get something like that here?  Not likely, I know...  but it would tremendously improve things, with the lack of Live Events now.

The tl;dr version of that webpage:  Basically, SWG has these vendors that sell storyteller tokens...  things that can be used to create prop items, effects, NPCs, etc. that last for a set amount of time.  When you start up your player event, you send out invites to the folks you want to involve, and only they can interact with the event that you set up (ie, mobs will only aggro people who are participating in the event).

God, having that in MxO would be a dream, and actually make player events something fun.

They also seem to have an appearance tab, where they can dress their character's outward appearence with clothes that don't affect their stats.  Do want.

Just had me an idea on how this could work, too, where it wouldn't affect the major player base.

Each neighborhood could be represented by an archive book, purchasable at the org archive vendor.  Each neighborhood could be replicated in an archive, where you could use these storyteller items.  You could create different sky effects, NPCs, FFA pvp zones, etc.  Maybe once the archive is activated by the storyteller, only players who are invited would be able to go there.  That would prevent unwanted interruption by griefers.  You could even have event character masks that could only be activated in those constructs.

Just random ideas.

It would always be nice to have resources to aid player events.

On a side note of things that would be nice - I'd like a giant mech that i could fly around mega city with.

Any form of storyteller tools would bring back alot of the hardcore rpers in droves.  I support this idea.

I'd like a rocket launcher that shoots rockets powered by sarcasam and exploding with loathing so I can shoot down Darm's mech.  I'd make sure not to hurt you though, dude.

Maybe I should also get some kind of big inflatable mat for you to land on.

Seriously though, I really like this the idea, but I have to agree with Darm's not-so-subtle point that this might be a tall order.

Use some Fen-magic and see what you can do, Fen.

:O excellent idea on how that could be implimented i love the idea of archived neighbourhoods. It removes the problem of conflicting real time and poeple who dont wish to be involved also could provide an excellent pvp opportunity like being able to set up pvp battles with your own rules and playground. (FFA, team deathmatch >>>CTF<<< etc etc) why has no one thought of archiving the current neighborhoods before!!!

Its a long shot and wouldn't be that hard to impliment (we already have part of mara wntz mor! xD You could litterally do anything within that area and not have to worry. There would however have to be some sort of restriction with regards ways to abuse the system for xp/inf but its extremely plausable and the first thing in ages thats got me this enthusiastic about mxo... soo much potential!

(pity i just un-subbed lol >.> get this done by the time i come back please SMILEY ) lol

I'd love to see this implememted for MxO, but this game's engine is totally different from the other SOE titles. I think that's why we probably won't see this.

Great idea. It is a good way to revive this game without an official storyteller, because we already have many cool people who create stories of the Matrix.

That's true. I really hope we see a possibility of user-created content in the game. The only way to get some live back to the game without a official dev-team (at last, a true dev-team would be best of course, and fan-content as addition would be still nice then)...

Make Neoteny dev ftw...lol

really would be cool to have those things, and have a response like "fixed" or "working on it"...or at least say not possible and maybe give some reasons why not. The Roundtable is filled with lot of great ideas, but lately im getting the feeling that nothing is possible, theres no new updates etc and no promise that they will, is this the end of mxo?...can any changes at all be possible?...anyway *fingers crossed

Firstly, great idea. This is a very Rp and story based game (I recall "continue the STORY of the matrix" being a selling point for this game) and an idea like this is perfect for the playerbase.

Secondly, While I hope, and I really, really hope jah is wrong. I think he may be right. It seems like rarebit was the last person at soe that cared about us, and he left. Please SOE, just give us something.
