I definately think that the MxO community needs to download xfire and join the MxO group so we can all keep in touch during whatever happens in the future SMILEY

Tribute fansite documenting the life of the game, with full forums for us to escape to when this is over.

Someone do it. Please.

If someone gives me files.
Watchingeverythingandeveryone.com could be scrapped for it.

Well it looks like I quit the game at the right time...I even said that this new update would be the make or break it point of MxO.

This does suck, but you never know things might not be over. I plan to stay on this game untill the game itself no longer is capeable of running.

MxO isn't going to get shut down, it'll just be an empty shell of a game basically is what it seems like.  Who knows, they might still do little updates here and there.  But no, MxO isn't going anywhere.

I believe on what Tenshi said here. Why shut down something that still pay's for the coffee at SOE?

I'm sorely tempted to do exactly this. Not yet, obviously, as the game's still going, but if it ever does get shut down (or there's some other cataclysmic event like the forums being wiped), I'll be sure to capture as much as I can and put it somewhere.

And I can guarantee it'd stay online for as long as I have a few pounds in my pocket and the Web still exists. SMILEY I won't close it down like some people would when the interest runs out.

I can see MxO continuing with a part time dev providing the small fixes for stuff, but with Rarebit intending on leaving us the planned story of how it was supposed to wrap up I don't think I can trust anyone except possibly someone with a burning, in depth understanding of the Matrix, to make even unrelated quests let alone continue the story.

At the moment all I can see, with a heavy heart, is PvP and player RP and while these 'secret' items Rarebit mentioned may allow for RP to flourish again for a while, the lack of official story isn't likely to keep people subscribed in the long run and as the population slowly decreases so will the RP and eventually the PvP too.

Being free to play may extend MxO's life a bit longer, but nothing lasts forever.

As I said, I'll be keeping my eye on MxO, I really do hope it continues and doesn't stagnate.

When have we had that since Watchowski's stepped out?
