Didn't take me long to figure out how to use MA again. I took my lvl 44 alt into a zerg and lasted about a minute in Interlock with someone, even with a zerg gunning for me.

A minute is all you really need.. and with luggables... you can have about a minute and a half. Much fun that is.

Being lvl 44 I couldn't really damage them, but I certainly landed a lot of moves.

By the time you're 47-49 you CAN (with a little luck) kill em. Although in a zerg it might be a little hard. I don't remember, I know at 49 it seemed like I had an advantage to 50s...

Cause the 49s that choose to pvp do so cause they can, and cause no1 expects to lose to a lower lvl, so they dont fight as hard

Karate looks like it took it up the butt......If I remember, Karate is the self defense ma and it should be reflected as such ingame. Akido I think is hitting light but fast and kung fu is slow but hard. They needed to be shown as such ingame cause karate doesn't even look like it's worth it.

mix and match your MA trees and you have some pretty good combos

i.e. have kung fu tree full then karate up to what you can load. when you get someone in staggered you can use the high damage kung fu specials and karate specials one right after the other

like all other trees you have to play with them and choose what YOU like... not what others tell you....

Let me state something before my opinions. I am not here to pick your loadouts for you, only give my opinions.

In my humble opinion, each MA tree has a different purpose that it is easily used for. Kung Fu for special states damage, good for PvP and fights with bosses. Karate uses alot of repetitive abilities, so it is best used against multiple lower level enemies. Aikido is best used as a last resort with Grab, Iron Body, and Serene Calm, that combo can take down even a Kung Fu grandmaster if used correctly, because the best offense is a good defense.

EDIT: Remember, to truly be good at any one thing, you have to be good at everything.

Actually kung fu is a fast one and powerful (the chinese self defense ma). Karate SHOULD be more accurate than it is, less def and powerful and aikido the def one with low damage and slower than the other 2.

Aikido is all about focus and defense, so using grab is key with Aikido. Zen master on the other hand, took defense a bit too far.

If you ask me Karate grab rocks in this game, I normally use that or aikido to get my opponent off-balance

It seems strange that you all talk about these various martial forms, and not a single mention of the one Martial Arts form that was indeed perfect. As the stats would go, it would likely receive 100 points in every category... because it took the very best from the best.

It is a spiritual form, whose roots are buried in a man who is still today the single greatest martial artist of all time, even in death. It is a form of the mind, of the body, of the spirit. It takes true mastery of all of these to be able to wield the grace and fluidity, the speed and precision, the raw power of this form.

If you have not guessed by now, that form is Jeet Kune Do. The one form which encompasses the greatest Martial Arts forms, taking the best from each of the forms, and leaving out the weaknesses. If anything, that should be a Martial Arts form to enter the game, regardless of whether everybody would switch immediately to it or not.
