Too seem like an utter noob but what is with the gangs?

Is there ever a way to truely destroy them so they dont come and bother you on a mission a.k.a killing your objective in say a recruitment mission or things of that nature?

I know that they will generally attack anything that is around five levels above or below them, but once you get past that certain bench mark is that when they will stop or if you hunt them down will that help?

Once again sounding like a complete noob but only been free for just over a week and wondering, knowledge is the power after all no more so then in The Matrix.

In storyline terms, the gangs are composed of Exiles who sought to carve out a place for themselves in the Matrix whether for protection, profit or to advocate an ideal.

Most of them are led by one of the "mission contacts" who can be found around the Mega City eg Indigo of the King's Men in Guinness Lake in Westview, or Mr.Black of Corporate Security, both in Stratford Campus of Downtown.

Once your neurokinetic (character's) level has gone above that of the gang NPCs, they no longer attack unless provoked, such as attacking a gang member in full view of others of the same gang.

Presently, there is no way to completely remove an Exile gang's presence from the Matrix, though there are opportunities where you can choose to help or hinder their operations, such as in certain Live Events.

Gang members will respawn regularly but you can slow down the respawn by not looting them after you kill them.
If you are five or more levels above the gang member (they will con grey) they will no longer attack you.
