Im having the exact same issue right now. Any help would be appreciated.

The problem is caused by certain combinations of clothing under Vista ONLY.

step 1: turn off antialiasing in graphics options (sorry but it causes a lot of problems under vista)

step 2: change your outfit.

step 3: hope you don't run into anybody wearing the wrong combination of clothing

thanks for the reply...it worked on one char, not on my main....only cause..she has a full inventory, and I cannot see anything in order to move it, remove anything, etc etc...Im shocked this hasnt been fixed....but thanks for your help.

If you still have trouble, I would suggest contacting GM support through a petition and let him know what you'll need to delete something to switch off your outfit before you do so. So once you do, the GM can check on what was just removed and get it back to you.

Thanks for the response, but the severity of this issue, and the fact that it is so widespread is a really bad indicator for me.  The fact that it is still, after all this time, an issue without fix, just makes me think moving on to another mmo might be a better option.  Having to worry about what i can, or cannot wear, or what people around me can, or cannot wear, is just too much.

Unfortunately this comedy of errors is a combination of Windows Vista being needlessly locked down from a security point of view, and MxO having a severe lack of anyboday able to fix all the issues in the World render engine.

I certainly understand your frustration, but I can't see as moving to another MMO will help much.  Simply because I have a Vista machine for which *everything* runs sucky, I'm more likely to blame Microsoft.  Their own Windows exec grousing about his new "$2,100 e-mail machine" sums it up quite nicely.

The trouble is deciding which is better: "Moving on to another MMO" or "Moving back to another OS"?

Varrah,  I had _exactly_ the same issue just today, right after I loot-acquired and then equipped the Shielded Sienna Ebony Flared Trench (level 50).  Immediately after equipping it, I got the exact same graphics you described and screenshotted.  No problems with other characters, and same problem on another computer.  So a rare subset of coats seems to be creating this problem.  I've never had it before.  After unequipping it (a tricky procedure) everything was fine.  So the glossy black coat in your screenshot might be the problem.

Just a thought.

The weird thing is, I also got the same graphics distortion Varrah described in the loading area when I looked at the inventory tab or the firsttab, the one for character overview.
