It isn't just about the war anymore. Maybe it used to be, but something happened. The truce? Maybe. Or maybe that was just when it started.

It seems as if you have come to a few of the same conclusions that made me jump ship, Ghost. You always were the smart one, send my regards to Niobe.

I do not expect Ghost to change his loyalties, but I daresay that many Zion Operatives could do well in thinking on and understanding his words.

Mind you there are a few Machinists who could learn to listen to what he has to say without automaticaly attacking. Yes he's a Zion Operative and yes he's trespassing within the simulation but he wasn't doing anything other than having an open forum on why Zion and The Machines fight. If he was attempting anything against the system it would have sent appropriate prevention measures.

Hmm. There's something to what Ghost said, all right.

Why haven't the Machines evolved emotionally? With AI as powerful as theirs, why are they still so focused on logic and efficiency? Why did they stop endeavoring to become more like humans?

In emotional terms, they are not much more advanced than this guy:

Machines.....They may have the technology and artificial intelligence but they will never understand what love is!Or freedom for that matter..

Perhaps they feel the need to try to steer clear of emotions considering what they've done for Human society. Programs know about love, they know the feeling that the word implies. As for freedom, I guess it depends on their idea of freedom...

Emotion might be the wrong word but to assume they have no real evolutionary thought process outside of protocols would be a little to presumptuous for my tastes. Well maybe not.. But it just seems like they have a real lack of trust for humanity given its instincts and long proven history which you cant blame them.

Even in Machinist operations on a day to day basis after sitting in and watching Systematica deal with operatives it seems like either they cant trust them or simply can't think on their level.

I don't think emotion or even a symbiotic way of thought process is required for a lasting peace but truthfully trust is because the war was a perfect example that both sides did many things whether it be through allowing people like Anome to get so out of hand or over writing operatives like the machines did. You can call this as presumptive and dogmatic as you want but I honestly think for there to ever be a leap forward in the ability to have positive relationships with machines their needs to be a level of genuine trust built not with a gun or a simulation.

It's obvious with the Oligarchy the machines hid something either for their own survival or ours. In my opinion it's a very good indication to me that they are just as much slaves as we are maybe not to the matrix but to something else entirely different. I think that's something to build on. If they don't nobody wins the war. Either Zion stresses the system to a cataclysmic failure or the machines wipe out the first Zion to ever be self sufficient enough to ever stand on their own to feet and say were here to stay deal with it. I don't want to see the consequences of either.

As for the Cypherites and E Pluribus this is not our war. If we ever want to accomplish anything it will have to be through compromise and a self deprivation of our own self righteous opinions. I just don't see one side winning.. But I sure as hell see both sides losing right now.

Reflection is one of the paths to greater wisdom, be not alarmed at what you see, just try to understand that there is no self and you'll be right as rain.

I could only assume for multiple contrast reasons the feeling is more than mutual. Not saying their legitimate and certainly not extending the notion that yours are but there needs to be a genuine level of sociology in regards to how events are planned and handled. And each server does have its down sides.

I know for the first ten minutes or so I could not get near Ghost in any capacity as ML was killing anyone they could. So I sent a tell to ghost "For someone so interested in Zen and inner peace and such you sure keep interesting company baldy" ignored. Ill chalk it up to logistics and not being aware the scope of things in regards to the changes in social interaction etiquette but the scope of things has vastly changed.

Cypherite players have no real hopes of being put into a position with an event like that they were they can hope to really not become either a walking fashion statement for a group of Zion players or an alienated target. Roleplay wise that fits in well common sense wise it's disheartening.

Blakez wasn't initially attacked and had some interaction but the random ganking was present... by some of the same people who after looking through logs were found to be the main people interacted with. I don't know man if you want the truth it really makes ya wonder once in awhile if a level of articulate conversation and effort is whats driving these types of events to begin with or if its almost systematic in its conception.

Call me ignorant call me uninformed but I walked away with a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe not for the same reasons alot of others did but thats because even amidst the ganking I tried to just sit there and interact with fellow players as Ghost was no longer a viable option given Rarebits choice. I probably got killed by varying factions that pride themselves on a level of non existent class at least ten times. No roleplay no interaction just a bored member looking to kill the time and a pre-occupied leader not practicing what they preach.

The most ironic part out of this ENTIRE thing was that the only group who showed a real level of class on the Zion end and real self control were the EPN who were currently amidst a pretty heated event with. Towards the end we just sat there next to them and watched but if anything this events title is fitting. Not only because of the killing that ensued their but the killing of peoples positive perceptions that things might be looking up on this server in regards to its ability for conducive mature roleplay.

You know what Grace it pains me to say this man.. but maybe your right this server has a long way to go and its a widespread problem for each side.

I don't know I just feel the need to add there are ALOT of people that do try. ALOT of people that are starting to try that never did before. I guess its human nature to gank I just hope we can all get past that eventually.

I have to say this was a refreshing "event" It's good to see that a player does not have to be in any "inner circles"to have equal opportunity to enjoy the game. As far as ganking I don't know what event you were watching, because for vector that was pretty peaceful.

((The almighty Trucidos, the great Cypherite leader has obviously forgotten in which instance he is...Next time we will give you a hug or better yet we will invite you, since you don't consider killing machines in a Zion event RP...It's not like Zion is at war with machines!! *ends sarcasm*))

((I do like the cowboys with their underwear over their heads on Vector but pvp's pvp and in the Live Events on Vector it *sometimes* but not always becomes a fine balance between fun and unbearable to interact with the Live Event Chars while the gankers attacks without sufficient backup, I have yet to see 3 to 4 players  take down a 60 played by Rare, my advice in those events is just to stand back and watch them reconstruct. IF they keep disrupting a story event with a little deeper meaning, the boot off server button is around as well, that's always a fine hint to take a chill pill from Rare.

I do like the title for the event though and it's fitting for Vector, I remember GrandmasterAmonRa complaining about a peace title given to an event a few months back, so that's cool, and the chance for everyone to talk to Ghost is really great. He's a great char and as Privaront says into Zen, so maybe sometimes people could try to play along with the live event characters persona? I think events would really evolve from there as Rare would have more to ping-pong around with to the players than sandwich jokes... and not just go "Hm, Ghost have to say this and then I'm out", and the killing amounts to Ghost doing what again - Reconstruct and come back... gg son.

This was an open event, that means open to interaction, ganking and disruption is always a problem, this is a rp mmo even on Vector, and just because some people don't like that it's not an excuse to ruin the interaction out of boredom. I think I used my quota of letters for the month now. and in my complete defense I must say I missed the event I'm just being general here in all respects. I find it funny that people sometimes want help from me or some other roleplayer, then when there's events we're just idiots, hm... guess I got to stop aiding a few people maybe?))
