Hmm, I remember hearing something that Trinities remains were recycled. But it probly wasn't official from the plot writers. Reguardless, when she died, wasn't there a cable through her stomach right about where her uteris is? Anyone have a picture? I haven't watched Revolutions in a couple weeks -_-
If she was pregnant though, I don't think the machines would have tried to save it. Especially since it would have just been conceived and be no larger then 20 cells. Other then that, yes, I do think it could have been saved.
Judging by the facts given in the movies, I can say it would be possible for her to be pregnant. However... the amount of real-time that passed between Neo/Trinity and her death was too short to be really meaningful.
If the Machines had retrieved her fetus, they would have done so almost immediately after her death. Given the tactics Sentinels used during Reloaded to take out hovercraft, it seems they really weren't too concerned about new human life, no matter how far along it was.
My verdict: It's a maybe. A big one.

You're right. It's not. According to the Assassin Memoirs Trinity's body was never recycled as already mentioned and the Assassin would know since he was the guy recycling people. In fact, that's the reason he ended up in the matrix. He was left out of the loop on what the Machine was doing with Trinity's body and saw his own deletion forthcoming. Usurpation of primary functions leads to deletion. Or something like that. I'd have to dig it out of my archives.
As for the metal through her, people have had a chunk of rebar pass right through thier brain and lodge there yet they are fine. Well ... except for a spear of metal through thier head ...
Stranger things have happened in real life...
((I think the metal was higher up than where her uterus would be. More around the area of the stomach and intenstines. Nearer to the breastbone than the pelvic area. I'd have to check to make sure though.))

Now that raises an interesting question....what would the spawn of The One and The Three ( fah, Trinity, you get it) be like? Would we call him/her/them the Four or the Two? Ow, mah brain hurts.
I sense an EPN event...
