What innovations would you bring to the table for MXO?
Take into consideration factors such as Budget, playerbase, Staffing and of course company policy.
i would ban everyone.

As the development branch of this game has a significant hand in how the story progresses, I think I would give a great amount of insight(albeit here on the boards) into the philosophical progression of this story. All the sides can fight each other, but if there's no insight or at least a nuanced suggestion of reason, there's no point and the story contradicts itself as we've discussed in other threads several times. On the subject of story, I would be much more aggressive about how the pieces move about the chessboard, so to speak. I would also devote a significant amout of time in shader and texture upgrades as well as object/item creation and testing, to evolve the way the game looks without necessarily doing a whole lot to the code. I would also bring a different mood and style to the visual style of the cinematics(though I like what Rare does already.)

who else has any ideas?
Would anyone attack the database? What kind of content would you introduce?
Whats on your wishlist?

Well said Pyraci and Garu..With Pyraci at the helm,MxO would have been visually stunning!
There's only one thing i would do:It's called an ANIMATOR!
If I was hired to work on mxo...
1. I would do a complete clothing revamp in regards to buffs. My goals would be (a) to have level 50 versions of all pieces of clothing and (b)Neutralize clothing stacking by switching some things to raw bonuses and not %'s.
2. I would work with Rarebit to plot out future story developements and leave spots where individual players could have an influence and even be drawn into his cinematics.
3. I would spend a great amount of time attempting to create alternative methods for leveling. Potential areas are datamining, collection trades, and hidden taggable places.
4. I would enter the cave of Dracomet and see what crazy/awesome ideas he has ... and then run for my life.
1. As Pyraci said the story needs a bit more of a push in the philisophical department. While the story is good and a decent continuation of the movies its missing this one factor that was apart of why the Matrix Triolgy was so influential and outstanding. 2. Reinstate the EPN and Cyph orgs as well as make them into proper organizations givieng them their own missions and own agendas, in other words none of this splinter org BS by devoting more time into their philosphies and agendas.

Amen.
Im also interested in what you would do in terms of LET / LESIG and what characters would be involved with the story.
In all seriousness:
Hypothetically speaking...
If I were to be hired by SOE to be a developer for MxO, my first task would be to lock Rarebit in his office. Ideally I'd want to relieve him of the burden of having to juggle both story progression and content development. I feel that giving him that "freedom" would allow for him to concentrate solely on the very thing we're all here for:
The continuation of the story told in the Matrix Trilogy!
Then my next task would be to unleash Dracomet and start churning out some crazy stuff for the game to really crank MxO out.
I'd ban Garutachi first.

Weeellll, I'd certainly help with my Software Engineering prowess to produce endless walls of code for the new Pyraci Graphics Enhancement 1.0, Dev Tools, combat system revamp, etc.
No kidding, I'd like that o_O
Hmm... I'd probably poke and prod things to see what made everything tick then go from there trying to improve things as I found them. That would involve a probably very long fight with the database. I'm not so good at graphics stuff, though.
