Hows it going guys..Im a long time MMO fan and since SOE picked up MXO
I decided to pick it up and give it a shot. So I have a few questions.
What is a good server to join and What combat profs are the most
effective and fun to play?

Ahh....the invasion of the SOE Stations Pass begins SMILEY  j/k

Recursion (my server) tends to be the most populated.  I don't
know quite so much about Syntax...but Vector is a hostile server,
meaning you're always hostile.  Recursion and Syntax are not.

I can't say what the best division is.  The best overall would
have to be ...but their incredibly easy to use and it's not
really fun to play with them.  s are best used when it comes
to doing missions, but once you get into the higher levels its more fun
to play with Martial Arts (for Martial arts I use a Karate and Kungfu
mix)''

My 2 cents.

If you want the real feel of the matrix, go hostile. From my personal experiences (quite extensive) Non Hostile servers are filled with Sh*t talking and Bickering. Also, people avoid fighting until theyre good and prepared, takes the fun away!!! Go hostile!

combat profs?  you're from SWG, aren't you :smileywinkSMILEY

You can have as many combat loadouts as you want, but you can only have so many skills loaded at a time.  One minute you can use wicked Kung Fu, and the next second you can throw deadly knifes at people, but not both at once.

As for servers, do Hostile if you're up for a serious challenge, and Recursion if you want to play without getting ganked when you come into the game, but getting $hit talked alot in PvP.

OK the hostile definitely sounds cool and all but would I have a chance to LvL or would my noob *CENSORED* just continue to get stomped in the ground?

And to answer you question Yes I do come from SWG the Bria server..been playing it since Beta 2 and picked this up because I like the way the combat looked along with the different fighting styles and what not....Not to sure about the whole hacker thing yet attacking people with code and what not. Dont get me wrong that may be the essential game for some people I just think it looks kinda lame.

Whilst i'm very keen to promote more new players on
Recursion, and because the folks from Method server (now part of
Recursion) are such a great bunch...I have to agree with Voldrasil.

If
you want the real feeling of the Matrix, always watching your back and
generally looking out for yourself and your associates; go hostile.

Just my £1.00

Cheers

PvP flags are off until you hit Level 16, by then you should have a good grasp of the game.

At that point you'll be starting to explore new areas of the game (Westview, International, and then Downtown)

For some inexplicable reason most high level players like to run around
calling people noobs whilst staying firmly in the "noob" area of the
city - Richland. So once you get to International and Downtown there
are fewer people that will bother you.

Join a faction - that way there will be Level 50s who can look after
you if a red decides to use you as his punchbag on a regular basis.

I'm sure most of the other common sense stuff you know, coming in from another MMO

LostProphet ^ ^ ^ ^ summed it up nicely.

BTW, at lvl 10 you get hyperjump available, and it's your best friend to avoid trouble (travel around the roofs).

Basically, join a faction and don't take things too serious.

At lvl 16 you become gank bait and if taken with a grain of salt, will only make you a sharper player.

I leveled to 50 exclusively as a hacker, and now enjoy the martial
arts.   Aikido, although not the prettiest, is very effective
in the higher levels.  Just  try out different styles
and  be patient.

Send me a /tell and I'll help out any way I can.

And to get this correct... All 3 factions are against each other right?

The factions have different agendas, however there is a truce which
between Zion and the Machines. The Merovingian are not openly hostile,
however I'm not aware of a key agreement or non-agression treaty.

Of course, just because your faction may be at peace with another,
doesn't mean that you can't take the law into your own hands and try to
influence relations between the factions. :smileywink:

Just to be clear, the "factions" your talking about are the Organizations (Merv, Zion, Machs).

On Vector, it's pretty much anything goes, but sometimes it depends.

Also, although they are poor, check out the cinematics they will give you a rough idea what happened to the story. Give a shout on the server fourms under the reqruitment section once you get your feet on the ground. The good thing about this game is as said before you can load different abilities for different tasks ( Hacker, Coder, Solder types). Also you can create 3 characters per server, so you could try them all...

Sadly like all mmo's there are some total idiots who wont offer help, but the majority of this community are good people.
