MXO - "ESRB Button on this page slows down the whole forum" ...Hi dear Devs and Forum Admins! What is that with this "privacy_certified-2008.gif" down on the forums page? This funny thing slows down the whole mxo forums construct. I can tell you why: It downloads this lil image from the ''http://esrb.org'' self. All forum users must wait till the forums page loads and till the server from ESBR is ready. The other thing is, that this linked image is not connected to a normal page, its a "https://", a secure page for which you run through several additional security protocols - and that only for a simple "gif" image?. Thats a totaly bad solution. You should place this lil annoying image on the SOE server and only link it to ESBR, but not download it from there - You download it with every clicked page again and again from new. This bug happens every half year again and you know it very well.ciaoMiss Arzu Bazman[arzubazman] // «CONSTANCIA» // http://msbazman.com or http://bazmandev.com
This thing is giving me problems to... so how do you block it phrom your browser?
I use Opera, so I'm not sure if I can help you. (Except to say that you should be using Opera too. As should everyone!)
Right-click anywhere on the page and select 'Block Content...'. Click the items you wish to block and click 'Done' at the top of the page. Alternatively, click 'Details...' and you can enter URLs manually. You can use wildcards to get rid of entire directories or subdomains.
I've even used it to get rid of particularly annoying signatures or avatars. Thankfully there aren't many.
*ears perk up*
I thought I heard my name.
Wish I could use PhirePhox here at work. :/ I'm gonna try that at home though. Thanks Asna.
