How about a birds-eye view of the entire area?

Hm... that certainly suggests this might be a new district. There's Downtown-like buildings in the background. I'm officially joining the "new district" theorists.

WE still don't even know if there will be zombies, I personally hope there aren't, though I wont mind if those are the NPCs I'd like to see something new.

I doubt we'll be fighting rats, there's already a rat-themed gang in Edgewater, the Wharf Rats.

I'm entertained.

I'll see it when it comes out.
No wild dire bears to maul you to death?  Awh ... And I was looking forward to some dismemberment by wild beasts.

I agree with Shinryu. No matter what this turns out to be, District, Construct, Neighborhood, Bob Newhart's dream, I think the Sati Sky is hugely inappropriate. I'd love to see the red sky make do an encore.

As for rats... I'm personally hoping for three-eyed fish.

Chadwick mentioned a nuclear reactor in theX.fm's coverage interview of ComicCon and SOE Block Party last year (maybe the year before). Mave covered the interview.

I think the jist of it is that someone in Monolith was working on it, SOE took over and it sat on a shelf since then.

Though the smokestacks don't quite fit the description of a nuclear reactor, this area does look industrial. And we haven't seen all of it yet.

I'd quite like to see the red sky too, or perhaps Rarebit will come up with a new weather-style for the place.  Something smoggy...

Personally, I hated the red sky after a couple of weeks. I can't imagine too many new players stayed after having their retinas burned out of the back of their heads. It could be cool to have a different weather cycle here than normal areas. Perhaps even a starry night. I don't really agree that Sati sky is inappropriate, but I think Rarebit has it on that because it makes it easier to see what all is in the screenshot.
