I'll work on messin' around with the AA a bit and post my results here in awhile. If Sykin's up to it, too, we'll split the job up.

And rarebit: You only with you were on my crew! XD j/k

Yeah, I'm totally obsessed with the smoothness. But, now you can see from Dezreki's screenshot what I'm talking about with the crazy shadows on the face of an RSI.

And I actually run with regular AA levels (Whatever the game decides is regular, I guess) when I have AA on. And this never happened with XP. So maybe there's something going on with that because I know that Vista's user interface is using its own AA (So that everything is smooth, which I love). Hmm...

As long as I can use FRAPS, though, I wish there was some way to fix that face-shadow/shadow-face problem as well as the various glitches with NPC textures (Civilians, Agents, the Oracle, etc).

That's why ShadowSK hasn't reported problems! He doesn't use AA.
Yeah. Maybe Vista is a little less generous about how it deals with situations where you're exceeding your card's available frame buffer memory. It might be that you can fix your trouble by bumping your AA + resolution down to a level your card can actually handle. Having your AA cranked up past that point might not be giving you a smoother image, anyway.

You might also try turning off some graphics options in MXO to see if that makes a difference--Overbright, in particular, since that adds a render pass, I think.

Oh, really?

<-- knows next to nothing about Vista except that it is causing this headache

Can you turn off that AA on Vista's user interface? I wonder if that would make a difference in the game.

I'm having a slight graphical issue, not sure if its vista related...check out the oracle and let me know what you think...

Yo, I got some screenshots of graphics errors now:

EDIT: It should also be noted I do not get issue when *I* use the gun:

Below are more samples of the texture bug (Note: You won't see the shadow-face bug in these because I'm using the Bright RSI useropts line)...

Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto.

Agent Pace cannot paint-by-numbers.

Hey now, we're on a budget, and ribbed ones cost more, so I had to settle with the regular kind...

YOU MUCH REACH THE... Also, check the leet hotbar. Yeah, I'm just fearless like that. Oh wait, this isn't a texture error.

Windows Vista is people!!

The screenshots are almost 1MB each... So... Hope most of you have a good connection.

Ah, I run AA, but also windowed most of the time. XD  It all makes sense now.

SolidSnake, it would help us out if you could post your DxDiag information, as specified at the beginning of this thread.

So, just to be clear about this, are the face shadow and texture glitches affected by resolution/AA/windowed? Like, do they still happen in 800x600 with AA off, windowed/fullscreen?

Also, what level is your AA set at in your Windows Display Options? Some drivers allow AA levels to be set there that could override what MXO is trying to use. If possible, you could try lowering your Display Options AA settings to see if that makes any difference in the game.

I was able to get rid of the texture glitches if I turned the charecter shadows and building shadows off, not sure if that helps any.

Huh, could be a stencil buffer compatibility issue then. How about if the character shadows are on low detail (round blobs)?

Not sure about anyone else but mine will glitch up If I put any of the character shadows on, high or low. I went back and checked the building shadows again It doesn't seem to effect the character's graphics. I'm not sure if it's effecting anything else but my frame rate drops bad when I turn it on, when I had XP it never did.
