anyone notice that in ETM Neo did not have a single part in that game? Everything that he was in was clips from the movie, Morph, Trin, Link, all had parts in the game if only for a few minutes. So i'm wondering if Reeves didnt sign on or if he pulled what Tank did and they just wrote him out for that bit or what happened?

My understanding of ETM was that there was never any plan to include or focus on Neo.

In the interviews, they (the game developers) said that the Wachowski
brothers wanted to help tell the story that happens right before and
during The Matrix Reloaded. The game tells the story that couldn't be
told during the movie.

The movie tells the story of the crew of the Neb, Zion, and the
conflict between Neo and Smith. The game is there to fill in the gaps
and explain how Niobe was able to rescue Morpheus, what happened right
after the Captain's Meeting, how they were able to destroy the power
plant, and so on.

So, I don't think it wasn't that they wanted to include Neo, just that he wasn't needed to tell the story. SMILEY

Yes, that was the way I understood it too. The movies are about NEO and his journey through the Matrix, ETM was about the roles other people played. It was nothing to do with Reeves not signing the contract - it was what was always planned. However. Shiny also knew people would want to play as Neo, hence the Path of Neo game coming soon - and Reeves HAS been signed up to play Neo in this one...

Actually, ETM had what I think was a mini "hacker game,"  besides the main story game. If you go through it, eventually you will find a short message from Neo, recorded by Reeves for the game. I also think Lock and Persephone have messages that can be unlocked, but I cannot remember exactly, but it would be easy enough to look it up in Google.

Yes there's a small message from Neo in the hacking part.

I don't know why, this game got such a bad opinion. In fact I retried
it last weekend and I really loved it, even more now that I can compare
with the fighting style of MxO. The game fits very well in the Matrix
universe. I'm curious to see how Path of Neo will be too.

Yepp, ETM was made mostly to show the story between the matrix and realoaded as well as little after that.

If they had decided to make like a total fighting kung fu kiuck *CENSORED* wire fu bullettime martial arts kick *CENSORED*(ops, i said it again) game, they would have included Neo and Trin and Morph.

Well, duh! They didn't have Neo because of a) You've have whineos
wanting to fly, stop bullets, and so on, coding for that would take
months. And

b) So you could but PoN when it comes out years later SMILEY

Your missing the point completely.

My point was that he wasnt in any of the video clips save for rescueing Morph and the key maker and that was clipped from the movie. Frankly, I dont want to play as Neo, I like MXO because you forge your own story, I like ETM because you are NOT the one and the world does not depend on you. But he just wasnt even in the game, CG character or actual film he wasnt in any orginal footage for the game.

well was there ever a scene in Reloaded where Niobe or Ghost where with him. Yes there is the sewer scene and i think you see him in the backgroud but other then that there was no need for him to be in there. And the only other time Niobe or Ghost is near Neo is in Revolutions. Dont know if this helps but hey just what I thought of.

o ya and one last thing he couldn't have done what tank did because they filmed all the scenes for ETM when they shot Reload and Rev and there contracts provably said that they would be doing that.

Actually, when the Keymaker is describing the plan to get to the door in Reloaded, there's Ghost and Niobe, Morpheus, Trinity and Neo and two other guys  whom I can't remeber - but assumedly the Captain and First Mate of the ship that suffers the first Sentinel bombing...

But I think Neo was left out of most of the game cinematics (which were filmed at the same time as the movies, and on the same locations) as it felt his presence was not really needed and would detract from the focus of the game which was to tell another story to that of Neo...

Having Neo in the story would have pointless. The point of view was from the logos and its crew.

If you complete the hacking portion, you just pretty much get the "congrats for completing the task" message from Neo. Yeah, I was glad that he was pretty much not in any of the cutscenes period.
