Meh if it happens we will just be blinked out of existence. So it wouldnt matter if it did swallow us up. Its better than getting shot right?

I'm probably the only person who will say this, But if it does create a black hole that expands and swallows the earth, I think that would be the coolest way to go out. There was a show about the top 10 ways civiliazation will be wiped out on the History channel a while ago, the black hole one being around #3, and they explained it rather well. First light would begin stretching, then matter would begin to get pulled towards it, would feel kinda cool at first, then we would be instantly particlrized and earth would emplode into the black hole. That just sounds like a fun way to die...

Do we get cookies when we get to the other side?

The other side of the black hole? sure if you can combine the right particulates.

Awesome, i've been waiting for this for a few years. Hope all goes well.

And personally, i'd be more worried about HAARP than the collider.

Think of it more like that "server crunch" effect.

Just thought I'd tell ya, 404 not found.

If it does spawn a black hole, what can you do, anyway? I'd just be interested in seeing what's on the other side.

This is a topic fairly near and dear to me, as I designed the web site for the LHC through my company in Chicago. The amount of wacko emails we get via the accompanying blog, or in general, has been steadily increasing as the "first beam" date for the LHC draws closer. One guy even claimed he was sent back through time via our government to warn physicists that turning the machine on will cause a tear in the space/time contiuum.

Nice site.

If they wink us out of existence, I blame you.

Good stuff! Although technically this is the site for the LHC. Yours is for a particular (no pun intended) research group as far as I can tell. SMILEY
