Okay, bought the Sony Access Pass and picked up a copy of the Matrix.  Can someone help this noob with  some simple questions.  I understand that a Hostile server mean you are gankbait from levels 16+, does this mean that you are gankbait everywhere and all the time or are their zones/times of safety? also can you be spawn camped over and over?  On a non-hostile server, does that mean all PvP on the non-Hostile servers is voluntary?  are their some zones that you are always in PvP mode?  do some events make you PvP enabled?  Can they turn this option on/off at will or is their a cool down once you go PvP?

Thank you for your assistance,

Tuscarora

On the Vector (hostile) server, once you hit 16, you are up for grabs.  The only truly safe place is the loading area.  I wish I could tell you that most players will leave you alone if you leave them alone, but I'd be lying.  Those of us that don't attack unless we're attacked are becoming few and far between.

Before you hit 16, you can turn on your pvp flag temporarily by typing "/pvp" in your chat window.  I'm not sure how long the timer on this lasts, but I know it's not permanent.

Bottom line, if you don't like pvp, stay far far away from Vector.

Welcome to the matrix!  SMILEY

Yes, you are gankbait after coming out of the loading area. There are
no safezones in the MegaCity. The only safezone is your organizational
one in the constructs.

also can you be spawn camped over and over?

Sadly, yes.

On a non-hostile server, does that mean all PvP on the non-Hostile servers is voluntary?

Yes, any non-hostile PvP is voluntary.

are their some zones that you are always in PvP mode?

Besides outside the safe zones in construcs... no.

do some events make you PvP enabled?

Some of the past events have made people forced into PvP. Kinda rare though (unless you are looking for the *CENSORED*assin)

Can they turn this option on/off at will or is their a cool down once you go PvP?

5 minutes of non-combat to de-activate your PvP flag.

Thank you both for your replies.  I love PvP so I am going to reroll on Vector.

One other question on the Hostile server are you gankbait for your own Organization?  Or just the opposing factions?

Just a little tip.. dont reconstruct at the same hardline and once your 16 stay away from mara c and tabor w (unless you know there are lots of people on your team there) Good luck tiger! :smileyvery-happy:

Sphairo makes a great point.

Before you hit 16, observe which hardlines are used most infrequently.  Once you reach 16, you can use those lines to safely enter the area.  But always pay attention to your surroundings.  There are such people who constantly camp areas just to kill lowbies.  SMILEY

LOL, yeah, don't they just.

I got the same sweep-team popping up and killing me (there were at
least 3 full teams at one point) at three consecutive HL's the other
night.

It was a case of "Ah, damnit, killed again" Recon, new HL, THUD.
They're already there... must have had the same idea.. "I know", I
think "I'll go to international this time" Recon, Inter. HL this time,
de-greening, and what seems like 100's of Mechs start pouring out of
the HL all at teh same time! Oh, yeah... THUD... again.

Actually you lose a very valuable ressource when you get ganked: Time.

And as we all know, time is money....
