Dont upgrade to 2.0 yet, Apple is taking a major hit from the new 3G owners + the first gen iphones and the update doesn't finish. It will install but when it goes to reactivate your phone it just hangs and gives you an error.

Since it's with the initial connection to the servers that's timing out, you can try disconnecting then reconnecting the device until you get an "Accessing itunes store" message.

However, that can then take from around 15 - 20 minutes to synchronise and on top of that, the update servers look to have been going on and offline since the 3G release.

Yeah with the overwelming purchases of the 3g iphones the ituens auth server crashed so rightn ow new iphone userers are having to register at home once itunes is back up but i do have to say icant wait to update the new app Store is pretty nice looks like we got some great apps

I finally Managed to get a copy of 2.0 for Ipod touch i love it the app store is really nice so far my fav free app is weather bug the rada map is cool you can zoom in by pinching or streetching on a diff location around the globe and i also have to say the Itunes Remote app is pretty sweet too.

Still cant get my iPod Touch to update to 2.0 >_< every time I try and click the link on the apple.com page it wont load and when I click update it wont load either. >_<

I searched all over Houston this weekend and still haven't gotten my iPhone.

I didn't think they were selling them online. Are they?

But if I don't get one by the end of the day tomorrow, I'll just have my local AT&T store reserve one for me which I can get in "7-10 business days".

They are indeed. At the moment only for existing customers or on a contract plan, however.

My iPhone arrived at my local AT&T store Monday and I rushed over there to get it.

I can now breathe a sigh of relief... and do a little dance! :D
