I think I started typing this since the show Jugement Day recommended
Guild Wars over The Matrix Online. (witch I am not suprised since they
gave the craptastic game "Advent Riseing" a 7.0+ score)

Out of all the player arguments of "MXO is not as polished as WOW" or
"MXO graphics are not as good as Everquest 2", I think we have
something that I belive you do not find in most MMOs besides SWG.

Org VS Org

I have talked to many players of MMO`s, more so of WOW than Everquest.
One of the things that I am actualy proud to talk about to people,
witch at first I didn`t because I thought all games had this, was our
Zion VS Machines VS Merovingian system.

To quote one player from WOW:

"You know, even though I know they had to put a Hord and an Alliance
because of Warcraft 2 and 3, I sometimes wonder why the d**m thing
exist at all. Besides the race and language diffence, I find no reason
to hate the Hord or the Alliance."

For some reason, when I talk to people about MXO, the one thing they
wan`t to talk about over the Bullet-Time and Kung-Fu is how we all
"hate" each other.

Think about it. From what I understand, most people who play EQ2 and
WOW have no reason to do Good VS Evil stuff or Hord VS Alliance stuff.
Its kind of like part of your character. "I have green hair, human,
padalin and....oh, I am also evil! Cool huh?"

While in MXO, I sence as well as most players do a reason to pick an
Org and stick to it. It seems that if you ask any player weather for
Zion, Machine, or Merv, that they all have a detailed reason to joining
an Org and will RP their reason to death.

I rarely hear about that in EQ2 and WOW, or even SWG though I admit, I have heard some extream Reable VS Empire stuff.

Any comments?

Greetings Darrius_SPLET,

As you already know, the world created and known as the Matrix is a
unique environment in many ways. Everyone who has been released from
there pods and jacked back into the Matrix has the opportunity to chose
to support who they believe in most. While you have those who will
support the vision of a future existence of Zion and its people,
protect the system and keep the survival of the Machines, or even
assist the Merovingian in whatever he my need to aquire power, everyone
has there vision and know there purpose. It seems like these
individuals you speak of in EQ2 or WOW dont have this kind of
environment and don't seem to have much of a purpose other than the
obvious.

Also RP is something that should be met with a great respect for it.
The creativity beyond one's RSI and their role that they play is
something that helps the Matrix seem more of a reality then a created
world by machines. While you will have those who don't understand this
or a too immature to embrace the concept of it, there will be those
dedicated to their roles and as you put it, "they all have there
detailed reason to joining an Org and will RP their reason to death".

In conclusion, the Matrix was predicted to be a world that was unmatched and it seems to so far live up to is name.

I don't see why people say the graphics are so bad. MxO graphics are f'ing awesome. Just because they don't look like friggin cartoon characters like WoW doesn't mean the graphics are bad.

The part of this game that I believe makes this game better
then any mmorpg Is the feeling that you're not playing on their
game.  You're are playing on Their world.  When you're in
Everquest, It feels like you are just leveling just to
level.   You just get the sensation that you are playing
another Rpg.  When you are in The Matrix online, You are filled
with rage against the other organization, when they kill your friends
and Allies. You are filled with overwhelming joy, When you pull off the
perfect raid.

This game gives you the sensation That you're really are your Rsi.

i totally agree with all thats been said, i use this game to escape
"the real", the totally unique org vs org on this game is wat drives
you to level, wat drives you to attack if you see someone of another
org that is 'defeatable' so to speak, and even (dare i say it) camp out
occasionally if you really need to own sum *CENSORED*. i think this does make
mxo such a break from tradition and a good break. and as for the gfx
they certainly rox my sox LOL. now if only theyd get rid/nerf hackers
and let spy break through evade combat......:smileytongue: sorry i wont deviate from the subject.

What realy drew me in like many others, is the fact that it's not your typical MMORPG, your not in a forrest surrounded by grass trees and strange animals. Your not an elf a hobbit or any strange creature, your a human like in real life, and you walk around a real city, with real people around you. It's a program yes but like the movies it's based on the real world, were climate changes wind affects the flags as they wave back and fourth. You intereract with doors people and your surroundings like no other game.

And then the passion you build to defend what you beleive in is great. Nothing like fighting for zion, the true reality. But respecting other poeple choices.
