Ah sweet man. Yeah new ranks got introduced not that long ago. (think it might only be the 2 not sure. thread somewhere about them)
I thought it was for being signed up the first day soe took over which was aug 15th 2005, but that ddoesnt seem to be the case either

It's just number of days and total post count like the rest of the ranks. All the Aug 15th's turn to the new ranks first, then the rest follow the corresponding number of days later, for example I have now ranked up.
I wish they could set the dates to when you started playing instead of registering on the forums I never bothered witht he forums for a long time.
