Well I'm sure it was worth threatening the lives of everyone present and of the truce as a whole to reveal a residual and redundant echo in the Matrix....... Way to go Kid!

Threatening lives? That would make since if the device used was dangerous but as I said when it went off how many dead bodies do you see, red or blue from the blast? Anwser ZERO.

And since when was useing your sence of sight a violation of the truce? Although hearing a merv saying they are concerned about it is funny since there boss was the original exile that tried to do away with it.

Even if it was your beloved Morpheus, the data is most likely old at this point in time. Not to mention the possibility of such a visible trace being corrupted or manipulated. It most certainly was fragmented.

Don't, for an instant, presume that all machinists blindly follow what the machines tell us.  I believe what I see with my own eyes.

However, The Kid is risking too much.  He's endangering himself and his followers in hopes that he can merely boost his cause with the premise that the great Morpheus is returning.  The device itself is not dangerous, however the reprecussions of using it were obviously seen in this little experiment.  Ask those who were gunned down by Agents once the shockwave passed.

The truce is far more important that the revival of a man whose actions risked it all prior to his death.  The lives of billions is more important than him.

Deny that if you want, but then ask yourself what you're really after.  A great man?  or a great race of people?

Great...  just what we need.  When already the Truce is strained enough with all this foolishness going on.

There are things more important than "the truce"...things like truth and freedom.

You think the machines tell the truth?  Ask them where Neo and Trinity are, or ask them where Cryptos and the General came from.

You think you're free?  Ask anybody who was in front of Club Sanguine last month when the "benevolent" machines started slaughtering redpills indisciminately (Machinist, Merv, and "Terrorists" alike) when they didn't "snap-to" quick enough.

How many of us have heard them shout "You're not authorized in this area!", and started running without a moment's hesitation?  You call this freedom?

If you want to wrap yourself up in warm and fuzzy lies, go sign on with Cryptos and his line-cutters.  The truth is we are all prisoners and the jailers know that as long as they keep us divided and distracted we won't take the time to actually look around and see this world for what it still really is: a prison...for your mind.

((Cool event, wish I could've been there.))

We are not free, no where were we granted freedom. We were granted continued existence and a very uneasy peace by the Machines. How many lives were lost before the truce? How many operatives were killed by Agents? What about now? In richland as we stand together around a hardline undisturbed complaining that we do not have freedom?

What of the days before the truce? Where every moment inside of the Matrix was a physical threat to your health? We are not free, we did not win any war against the Machines, Neo saw that Zion would be destroyed and instead he made a deal to save Zion.

There are things more important then truth and freedom....like the continued existence of humanity.

Ah, but the truce permits you to live, so you can strive for truth and freedom.

It was a great event, I spent the whole time wondering in the back of my mind when some bone heads would ruin it but that never happened.  The final at the dojo left a bit o be desired since very little additional infomration or analysis was imparted or shared.  however I have renewed energy and interest in finding out where this will all lead us.  now we have RSI popping up in Moriah and one in the Gracy fight club.  something BIG is about to happen!  I am so thirlled I was lucky enough to form a part of such a well managed event.

Hehe, exactly. Fair enough if you don't want the truce, but good luck fending off all those sentinels with your weedy little body meat-sack.

To bad I missed it. Ah well. Can't make them all eh?

*ahem*

Slips into character.

My beliefs do not require you to believe them.

So many here that would betray their humanity... sad really.

The message Neopill received in Westview indicated that the sender was hurt. The RSI that appeared was hurt. As noone was there when Seraph turned up, no one heard the message transmitted from the experimental broadcast unit.

Scouring the matrix for residual imformation may be able to fill in the gaps in the message Neopill recieved and provide an accurate picture of what is happening rather than all this speculation.

As for the truce allowing us to live... To paraphrase a personality from the past: ... A slave, even though his owners may permit them to act as they like, is still a slave. Freedom is something that men have killed each other for and done terrible things to obtain it. It certainly seems like something worth having. And that Is why I would with all respect would like to purchase my freedom sir.

That isn't some black sambo type character either... but rather a robot from the story "I. Robot." by Issac Asimov
Another robot that comes to mind, having a similar desire for freedom is B1663R. The first robot to murder a human to save themself.
Machines that fought so hard to gain their freedom would now deny those whom have never known anything but repression.

Against all odds life and freedom ALWAYS find a way. The harder you push the harder we push back.

Gray... Don't tread on me! For there is no hiding from the wrath of the opressed.

I should add:

Don't mistake my contempt of some for reckless abandon. No point running head-on at a train as anger alone will not stop it... but if you tamper with the train, the tracks or even just put a car infront of it, you can turn the train's energy against itself.

Make no mistake... before my time is up, me and those of my ilk will have the freedom we desire. We will stride into the open, free, instead of hiding in holes like rats. Hopefuly man and machine side by side...

Some things never change... and some things do.

I would also like to express my gratitude to the incredibly well planned progression of this subchapter.

This was the ultimate climax, an excellently fufilling yet also heavily future foreboding scenario, after the bodged up ending to the unlimit saga and the incredible dissapointment of the anniversary event earlier this year i was starting to wonder if climaxes would ever be done right again.

Thank god i was proved wrong.

Oh and it also makes an excellent close to the year.

Now lets just make next year the best one yet eh? =D

You're right about the Sleepwalker incident (such a promising plot just dropped with a wimper - I'm still waiting for closure) and the end of Unlimit (literally: the actual disappointing thing was the way the Unlimit ended), but that's not a comparison - this isn't the end of an entire story arch, right? Just a temporary climax.
I'd compare it with Niobe's rescue - also a big event. It was done satisfyingly, as far as I remember.
