Is there any reason that in the patcher trees...

The single heals seem more costly is wise and actually don't even heal as much as the aoe heals?????????????

This is completely the oppisite of any mmo I have played. ..any reason for this?

Possibly because the single heals are quicker to cast?

AOE heals will also cause NPCs around to attack the healer instead of whoever is doing most damage, whereas the single heals don't.

Actually good point pve wise...but I was kind of thinking about it as far as pvp...

Well, I'm not sure why the AOE heals do more, but it's the same with hacker. The AOE hacks do more damage than the single hacks, but in that case, the AOE hacks use more IS.

If you look at the details, the singles have more HPS, but I dunno much about all that so I can't explain why they have higher HPS but do less.

It might also have something to do with the upgrade you're using.

Maybe they're thinking was that in PvP, the AOE heals are more noticeable, and you have to be more directly in the fight causing people to attack you more; whereas with the singles, you could be somewhere offsite and teleport, or you could be at a distance and heal one person (rather than be in the middle of the fight to try and get your whole team) which would be less conspicuous.

Well most of the time i use AoE heals. even on Single depends on how much damage the target has taken.

Sputnick is actually not correct it you look at the trees the single heals at the same tiers of the doctor tree actually cost the same and more is as the aoe heals in the same tier of the corpsman tree....

I can see the point that the singles cast faster but the IS cost on top of the not so great healing amout is out of whack.

Bayamos you may want to try several other large mmos and you'll notice their healing systems are the opposite of mxos.

I was talking about the whole NPC aggro bit. Dunno about the other stuff. No thanks regarding other MMOs.

Keep in mind the DPS and the cast times. Area hacks do more damage with a lower DPS due to the longer cast time.

Code Nuke 3.0 DPS 25 <-- Has longer cast timer by like 3 or 4 seconds.
Logic Barage 3.0 DPS 40

Never looked at heals that closely but it's probably the same. Personally, I think area heals should be nerfed big time but thats just me.

Repair RSI 4.0 - IS Cost 35 - HPS 76
Group Repairs - IS Cost 30 - HPS 30
Restore Group 3.0 - IS Cost 24 - HPS 32

But yea it's not horrible but the heal system could use a few tweaks...is costs are a little low on aoes and healing totals are a hair light on single heals..

I'v only ever toyed about with Physician so far and i can get someone from really low health all they way back up to full in about 8 secs or so. Thats using passive code and some healing clothes. Not sure if i had improved hacking runnin on me at that point though but no, single heals are fine as they are.

Anyway to get heals NOT to be able to be used in pvp SMILEY

Heals = win, pvp = fun, pvp heals = no fun and log off SMILEY

Last week i watched the machines, 8+ of them usin heals (fair enough the healer has said he's full time heals but there was another aswell). We had about 6 and zions had 4 or 5 and also a couple that musta not had a team. Needless to say 15 mins went by and i was in a team of 2 or 3 and no zions about. At that point that woulda bn a gd 3 way tussle but...

DPS = Damage Per Second
HPS = Healing Per Second

Therefore the overall damage/healing is a factor of the DPS/HPS AND the cast time. How can people still not know this? We've only been using this system for 2 years.
