Next thing, it seems that loadout switching was disabled.  I couldn't unload any of the abs that I had when I came in, except by macro.  I don't know about loading abs, because I was still writing the ticket for the unloading bug when it went down.

I'm pretty excited.  Hopefully the next time it comes up I will get to see what combat is like!



Please note the Known issues list at the top of this thead posted by the OP. I believe that one of the issues was stated that note all items have been converted to the new system. Hence gray icons in some individuals inventories.

I would like to thank everyone that logged onto the Test World last night before we brought it down. (see Walrus's post) Your efforts helped us identify a server stability issue which the devs are working to resolve.
 
I know it can be fustrating to have these types of problems occur, however through the efforts of the community it is my hope that the CR2.0 changes will be as bug free and balanced as possible.
 
Once again thank you for you time and efforts.

You would be confusing the Engine with the Turbo Charger Bayamos.

Calm Mind, Calm Body adds directly to your attribute while the bonus you have highlighted on the Bonus window is the Influence version.

  • Thrown Resistance = Attribute
  • Thrown Resistance Bonus = Influence

  The Attribute numbers visible in the bonus panel already have any influence bonus calculated into them.

Indeed I would like to address the bullet time animation probably in this order.

  • Abilities
  • Finishing Moves
  • Normal attacks

However I have seemed to have missplaced my animator... <looks around quizically>

There is no time line for this but we know it needs to be done.

This was a purposeful change actually. There was a standing issue with Covering Fire and in order to make this ability work correctly the other specials in the Operative and Soldier disciplines had to be assigned more advanced styles to use if the player had them loaded. In this way MAs and Gunman now have a couple of more tools to work with. :smileywink:

I need as good a repro on this as possible I can't seem to get it to reproduce intnerally. I anyone has good steps to get this happen in a more controlled fashion please PM me them.

The real problem is that without a solid or even semi solid repro case the Devs dont know where to start looking for the problem. When this is the case with a bug, usually, unless its prevents game play like a client crash or something that effects ever single user, they have other serious issues they can fix and move onto these.

Sometimes Devs will go back and hunt stuff down themselves but due to the amount of really broken stuff this only happens occassionally unfortunately.

I scanned through the thread and noticed alot of folks saying "Fix it!". Now I know many of you may just be venting but you also know that simply saying "Fix It!" isn't going to make it happen.

If you have a sure fire way to get it to occur alot please /bug it. What do I mean by sure fire?

Example:

  • Create <gender character> of <body type> 
  • Goto to <X,Y,Z>
  • Face <direction>
  • Intiate Concealment by <method (macro, clicking the the hotbar, from the action panel, ect>
  • State: The problem is <explaination>
  • Result: Issue occurs #% of the time. (hopefully 100% but close to that would be helpful)

This is the type of information that is useful to the Dev to the team when they are looking to repro and fix issues.

Did the weapon do 160pts per tick or did the total sum of all the ticks add up to 160pts?

After some testing I found that any -Viral Resistance debuff applied to the target would increase the damage of the DoT. however realize there is a maximum benefit you can get from your opponent having a low resistance to your type of attack.

Multi-Fighting isn't coming out at this point but the dev in charge there hasn't come up with a good idea for it yet I believe.

Can anyone say submit suggestions? :smileywink:

Perhaps a forum thread with ideas that make sense for it?

Ah the defense vs resistance talk. Let me try to put some like on this.

In CR 2.0 you are going to get hit... Alot more than your used to.

Defense can make a difference but it can only truely be seen over a long number of exchanges.

For example say with X defense you get hit 50% of the time determined by 100 or 200 exchanges. Now you turn on another ability that increases X defense you would need to take the same sample of 100 or 200 exchanges to see the true difference between whether or not that ability is helping you. In my testing, yes it is but this is the kind of test that would need to be run in order to determine if a specifc defensive abiltiy is working properly.

No we have  had this problem in the past. I thought we caught all of these some time ago. Please /bug the Logic Bomb 2.0 ability animation in interlock issue.

Lupines using the wrong animation is a known issue.

I repro'ed this issue with the ability Wounding Shot and filed a bug for it. So the devs have something to work with now.

Thank you to everyone for you help I got this one narrowed down and filed.

For future reference if you /suicide the immunity will be removed also. But if you prefer not to die just log out and back in.

The bug appears to be if you die while certain DoTs are running on you an immunity timer buff will be placed on you preventing any of your abilities to be used.

The problem is that the ability only gives you an actual full point increase at intervals greater than each level. Meaning you might have to level the ability 3 times in order to get a full point of change. Hence the first two levels you would see no increase in the abilities function.

Interlock rounds are always calcuated at 4 seconds.

And yes your current tactic effects your damage or healing outputs.

You are correct your stats no longer affect your crafting if they ever did... I would have to dig around to find that out. But it should be noted that your stats do not need to buff your crafting abilities as Signal Boosters and clothing quite adequately compensate for the higher level difficulties on level 50 apparel and weapons.

You only receive a bonus 2% for Stats above 5 per the design.

As far as the number not adding up in Leo's screen shots it does appear to be something wrong however I would ask did you /bug the problem with details of what happened preceeding you finding this problem?

  • NPCs using abilities above their level - As far as I am aware this is by desgin. However if you see a level 10 using the Destroyer Debuff though you should probably mention it. And for the most part the ability wont be more than 5-10 levels above them but also remember the effectiveness of many abilities are directly linked to their Style level.
  • NPCs walking out of mission areas - Definately a bug, unfortunately we dont have a solid repro case making it very difficult to fix.
  • NPCs having faster reuse timers for weapons - I dont think this is occuring as such. Remember what you see on your client in a lag situation may effect animations and/or you chat window. However a stop watch is the best way to tell as all weapon types have the same reuse timers. (Pistols, Rifles, Submachine Guns, Shot Guns, ect.)
  • NPCs not obeying the reuse timer for initiating Interlock I haven't seen this issue nor been able to repro it. More information would be helpful. "Mission Name, character level, opponent names among other things."
  • NPCs shooting through mundane objects - This is intended as you can do it also Trees, dumbsters and what not do not block a player's LoS either (Line of Sight)
  • NPCs shooting through walls - There is currently a bug where openned doors do not appear as open allowing NPCs to fire throught them. This gives the appearance that NPCs can magically fire through them however a player can return fire if you can target the mob in question. I have done it on my RSIs several times.

Mhmm.. then why did I reach 50% with 26 reason and not (as it seems to be supposed to be) 42%?
Screen shot of the bonus panel showing this would help a bit. If a given Stat was 26 the Influence Bonuses from that Stat would be 42% or should be. If you find you are getting more from it for some reason please /bug it with details.

First off Hyper Block is pts to Melee Defense, not Melee defense bonus as depicted in your screen shots. Turning on and off Hyper Block would never affect your Melee Defense Bonus in the status panel.

Secondly you have your buff bar covered in the second screen shot so I can't tell how you manuipulated the buffs inorder to get the result you are trying to describe. If you dont want to show the public what you did you can just pm me the steps to reproduce the issue.

at 180 you are below the average for a level 50, if you were playing a 50. This translates into you taking more damage because your VR was below 200.

What your describing if I understand it right is that you wear 1 set of clothing activate the buff then wear a different set of clothing for added bonuses?

That was the response I was given when I queried the devs about the issue at the time. This is the offical position for this bug in regards to clothing or passive abilities.


At this time exploiting the fact that Buffs do not dynamically update is considered a bug. As such, using said bug for gain either in PvE or PvP is considered exploiting. And if caught doing so is subject to the penalities deamed appropriate by CS.

Yes Xcesss there inherant Acc bonuses on most if not all Interlock abilities still. This fact is being looked at in regards to balance for interlock abilities.

For the sake of fairness to Rarebit he didn't design the combat system nor is he an engineer to just go digging through source code to find an answer to a combat game mechanic concern.

  As Rarebit stated in his Ask a Dev thread lacking an Animator would make additional emotes nearly impossible to do at this time.
