I was referring to those who are the people that hated the franchise and aren't playing here.  Those who never played this game.  A considerable chunk of people who by and large outnumber us Matrix fans.

If you want my life story (as far as MxO is concerned) read on.  If not, psh, whatever.

Randomly decided to play MxO in Feb '08.  To this day, I still don't know why I never did it sooner, but it is what it is.  I honestly can't remember if I was directed to the Trust or if I had found it through DN1, but either way, I had my first interview (and consquently first RP experience... it was rocky at best), and I remember being run through the Access Node tour in International by Alphaea, Cov, Bindi, Fen, Ivy, and Deff after my interview and acceptance.  Good freakin' times.

Anyway, Noxton came about right around the time Conan came out and a lot of Trustees had things going on in their lives.  He was supposed to be a Mech, but through random RP became a Merv.  Thanks to Tranque for that.  Heh.  The main difference between my characters is that I learned to RP with Qui, and Nox was built from the ground up for RP. Anyway, I somehow managed to be active in both factions, and get both of my characters to 50 within a year with little to no sharing of resources between the two characters.  In retrospect, I probably should have just run a character on Syntax, but I already knew everyone on Recursion.  Dramacursion for life!

I love both the Trust and FG.  <3 to my fams.

Maybe it's because for a short period of time I helped, but I say Neoteny wins.

I'll start with Zippy.  Dude, you should have RP'd yourself a shower.  C'mon, man.  Flies everywhere... That's just not sanitary.  Oh, and sucks that our characters never really had a chance at interaction, I'm sure it would have been interesting.  (Now you can stop feeling so sorry for yourself )

To FG: 
Thanks for giving me an awesome place to grow my wayward character.  I had a general plan for Noxton, but things don't always go as planned, and in this case it's for the better.  We had some great inner-faction RP that occasionally spilled over to the outside world which was always fun.  And of course, I've come out with some people who I consider RL friends, and that goes a long way.  <3 to the Family.

I think that what I'm most sad about with the end of the simulation is that Noxton is done, too.  I had some RP planned...  I'm still gonna try to get it in.

To The Trust:

What can I say?  You guys brought in a noob RPer late in the game and made him welcome.  I doubt I would have found the experiences I did have in this game without you guys, so again... thanks.  Hell, I didn't even know about the LE's until you guys took me to a weekly Zion meeting.  How sad is that?

I have all these memories of seemingly small interactions that I'll never forget.  Also, a special thanks to Neoteny for letting me bend my character into the bombing extravaganza, and thanks to Bindi for forcing Qui out of it.  Heh.  Oh and thanks again to Neotney for letting me kill you even though the final killing blow was stolen.  Heh, no hard feelings Meta.

I'm waiting for Live assistance now, but I looked at Raijinn's post again and I am so mad I didn't read it more clearly the first time.  No where in there does it say that we will retain our accounts after June 1st.  In fact, the wording of this is  very "You lose access after June 1st."  I've written semi-ambiguous stuff like this before while working in tech support.

As of June 1, 2009 any currently entitled active player with an account in billing will not be billed again. For players who have previously purchased prepaid subscription time via a multi-month subscription service, SOE game time card or other retail game time card that extends the service period past June 1, 2009, SOE will refund these accounts for the unused time and where indicated will mail refund checks to the current billing address on the account. Please be sure to update your email and physical address in your Station Account as this will be critical to the refund process.

Are The Matrix Online subscribers going to be compensated for their loyalty to the game?
On July 31, 2009 at 11:59PM PST the ability to play The Matrix Online will cease. We encourage players to transition their active service to one of the other SOE games available for trial during the transition period of June 1 through August 1, 2009.

However, in the e-mail from SOE that a lot of people got:

Dear MxO Subscriber,

We want to inform you that on June 1, 2009, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) will suspend commercial services of THE MATRIX ONLINE (MxO). However, SOE will continue to operate the game service and players will still be able to play MxO through July 31, 2009.

As of June 1, 2009, SOE will no longer offer customer support or provide updates for MxO, and active subscribers with accounts in good standing will not be billed after that date. MxO subscribers who have prepaid subscription time that extends their subscription period past June 1, 2009 will receive a pro-rated refund for any such pre-paid excess subscription payments*. Such refunds are expected to be issued by October 1, 2009.

My account resubbed on 5/30.  That sounds like "Good standing" to me.

What's the point of keeping the servers up if NO ONE CAN JACK IN.
