Well South Park finally did an espisode on MMORPGs, more specifically WoW and Blizzard. Aside from the plotlines like Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman playing WoW and trying to stop an unbeatable person. The show also shows how addictive MMO's can be. The downside of this espisode is that it seems to be a 30 minute long WoW/Blizzard commerical. What did yall think of it?

What made WoW so successful? I mean there are others MMORPGs that are alot better, have better graphics, better gameplay, better content than WoW. Yet, it has 7 million subscribers. I mean jeez the graphics is cartoonish (ick) the gampeplay is repeative and boring, and the content are limited to quest, dugeons and gold farming. Has anyone else wondered why WoW has the lion share of the MMORPG market?

For those of you who know me, I am a Private Pilot who flies for fun. I am also a big supporter of AOPA (Aircraft Owner and Pilots Association) and I visit their website today, and Phil Boyer typed out the perfect response to Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley wanting the entire downtown Chicago "protected" from General Aviation aircraft. For those of you who don't know, or don't care. Mayor Daley was also responsible for the destruction and close of Meigs Field. So why does Mayor Daley want to ban GA aircrafts from flying in downtown Chicago, because of what happened in New York with the Yankee pitchers. People of Chicago, if you have any sense left in you, this Novemeber, if Mayor Daley is up for election, VOTE HIM OUT OF OFFICE! Of course other politicans are following Mayor Daley irrational hatred for General Aviation aircrafts by banning trucks, vans etc. Well ladies and Gentlemen, this is Gov. Co. at work. This is why I hate big "strong" government.

Mayor Daley's latest rants have sent me over the edge. He used the accident in New York to once again demand a no-fly zone over downtown Chicago for general aviation aircraft.

It was expected, of course. He has an irrational hatred for piston-engine aircraft, as evidenced by his illogical tirade this week. "They should not jeopardize, through intentionally or by accident, a single- or two-engine plane flying over our city [sic]," the Meigs Field destroyer exploded at a press conference. (I don't think he was including Boeing 737s, 757s, and 767s in his list of twin-engine aircraft.) "Remember: a single- or two-engine plane can kill as many people as possible if they want to."

And if it were just Daley, I'd ignore his ravings, just as the folks in the federal government in charge of security and airspace do.

But it's not just him. Other politicians (with the spectacular and notable exception of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg) and self-appointed "experts" are jumping on the tragic accident — repeat, accident — in New York to sound off again about the "danger" of light aircraft, and how they must be regulated, restricted, banned.

OK, for all of those ranting about "threats" from GA aircraft, we'll believe that you're really serious about controlling "threats" when you call for:

    * Banning all vans within cities. A small panel van was used in the first World Trade Center attack. The bomb, which weighed 1,500 pounds, killed six and injured 1,042.
    * Banning all box trucks from cities. Timothy McVeigh's rented Ryder truck carried a 5,000-pound bomb that killed 168 in Oklahoma City.
    * Banning all semi-trailer trucks. They can carry bombs weighing more than 50,000 pounds.
    * Banning newspapers on subways. That's how the terrorists hid packages of sarin nerve gas in the Tokyo subway system. They killed 12.
    * Banning backpacks on all buses and subways. That's how the terrorists got the bombs into the London subway system. They killed 52.
    * Banning all cell phones on trains. That's how they detonated the bombs in backpacks placed on commuter trains in Madrid. They killed 191.
    * Banning all small pleasure boats on public waterways. That's how terrorists attacked the USS Cole, killing 17.
    * Banning all heavy or bulky clothing in all public places. That's how suicide bombers hide their murderous charges. Thousands killed.

Number of people killed by a terrorist attack using a GA aircraft? Zero.

Number of people injured by a terrorist attack using a GA aircraft? Zero.

Property damage from a terrorist attack using a GA aircraft? None.

So Mr. Mayor (and Mr. Governor, Ms. Senator, Mr. Congressman, and Mr. "Expert", if you're truly serious about "protecting" the public, advocate all of the bans I've listed above. Using the "logic" you apply to general aviation aircraft, you're forced to conclude that newspapers, winter coats, cell phones, backpacks, trucks, and boats all pose much greater risks to the public.

So be consistent in your logic. If you are dead set on restricting a personal transportation system that carries more passengers than any single airline, reaches more American cities than all the airlines combined, provides employment for 1.3 million American citizens and $160 billion in business "to protect the public," then restrict or control every other transportation system that the terrorists have demonstrated they can use to kill.

If you're not willing to be consistent, then we might think that you're pandering to uninformed public fears, posturing from the soapbox of demagoguery, screaming security for your own political ends.

Ok, so Rare says that the reason that the machinist has the FM-1500 (I think it is) and no one else gets anything is because nothing else seems "cool" enough as a gun that is used by an agent. I've been thinking about this for awhile, and I think I've come up with org specific items for Zion, Merovingian, Cypherites and EPNs.

Could we boost lvl 50 memory from 100 to say like 105 or 110?

I think since we are supposed to be at war that the concept of "bugs" should be introduced. Basically the idea is this. Lets say that the EPN are going to hold a meeting, and Cypherites want to get some information on what they talk about. However they can't send a spy since this is a high rank meeting so security is tight. So what do you do? You find out where they are meeting ahead of time (either through a spy or informant) and you basically place a luggable in the area. The luggable would have to be small and it can't have the arrow and cross hair things on them. Now the bug who will be own by one person will receive a transcript of the meeting in his chat box as it happens.

Now how does one get a bug? Well I think the process should be very hard, maybe with a long, hard mission so that we don't have everyone using a bug everywhere which would make this whole thing pointless. They would pretty much have to prove that they are worthy to get a bug to plant in places.

Not my best idea no, but it's something.

Since "Ask a Dev" thread is closed, I've been thinking about this and there's many characters we don't know what they sound like. I mean we've all heard Cryptos, Agent Gray, The Architect, Merovingian, The General, Oracle, Seraph, Morpheus, The Intruder, The Kid, Shimada, Sati, Niobe, Anome, Persephone. However there are some characters we haven't heard an actual voice for. One of them is Veil, another one would have to be Flood, The Effectuator, Malphas, and of course Agent Pace. Ghost doesn't count since he was in the movies.

Anyways, I think it'd be interesting to actually hear some of the mentioned voices in the Cinematics.

Just a thought.

So, I'm looking to upgrade my video card to something that'll be compatible with DX10, however I know that the new GeForce 8800's series card also has you lagging indoors in MxO. So is there a video card that won't have you lagging indoors and is compatible with DX10?

Ok, so I have a plane ticket to take me to WA in April, however, something has come up and I can't go to WA anymore. So I have an American Airline tickets going from NC to WA that I really don't want to waste, but I don't want to go to WA either. Ok, so in order to get brand new content (that isn't recycled), we need an animator and an artist. At least, that's my understanding. Great, except the fact that SoE won't spare the money that it cost to hire one. So, I thought up of a way for us to get those two people, and SoE won't have to spend a dime.

One of my character is a female program, who is a tomboy. and for her to wear the women clothing in MxO is out of character for her. She'd either wear unisex clothing or men clothings. Is it possible to introduce Unisex clothings or at least allow the females to wear men clothings?

Yes, I can already see the slipperly slope of letting women wear men clothing, but hey if a guy wants to wear women clothing, why not let them?

I don't normally pass these feel good stories around but this one is special.

In 1986, Mkele Mbembe was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from University. On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air. The elephant seemed distressed, so Mbembe approached it very carefully.

He got down on one knee and inspected the elephant's foot and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it. As carefully and as gently as he could, Mbembe worked the wood out with his hunting knife, after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot.

The elephant turned to face the man, and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense moments. Mbembe stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled.

Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned, and walked away. Mbembe never forgot that elephant or the events of that day.

Twenty years later, Mbembe was walking through the Chicago Zoo with his teenaged son. As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walked over to near where Mbembe and his son Tapu were standing.

The large bull elephant stared at Mbembe, lifted its front foot off the ground, then put it down. The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man.

Remembering the encounter in 1986, Mbembe couldn't help wondering if this was the same elephant.

Mbembe summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder.

The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Mbembe's legs and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly.

Probably wasn't the same elephant.

As we all know, every two years, we get a leap forward in computer technology, computers become faster more powerful, and is able to process more data, and hold more memory. However, what if, like our favorite movie and computer game, we really were inside a computer simulation and that we are just like the people in the Sims games? Author William Irwin propose this question for a first time in "The Matrix and Philosophy: Welcome to the Desert of the Real" and he has now come out with a new book called, "More Matrix and Philosophy: Revolutions and Reloaded Decoded". Now I saw him on MSNBC tonight talking about this, and he says that there's pretty much a 50/50 chance of us actually being nothing more than simulated people inside a computer program. What do you guys think? Is it possible for us to be inside a simulated world, if we are, what is the real world like? Also, are our creators machines like in the Matrix, or are we just someone's lab work, or hobby, or game? What do you guys think?

So, tomorrow is 9/11/07, six years after 9/11/01, a day for most people in America that will always be in their memory, burned permanently into their mind. Like Pearl Harbor, or Kenn State, or when Elvis died. It was the day when we witness the murder of 3,000 innocence civilian by extremist Muslim.

So where were you when you heard about the attack on the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and the Flight 93? I remember it very well. I was a senior in High School and I think I was in a math class. When this girl who was sent to run an errand to the office ran back to the class telling us "We are at war!" The teacher turned on the TV set and we saw the aircraft hit the second tower. The whole school froze and every time we changed class, we just sat there watching the event unfold on TV. It was the only time the whole school has been quiet for more than five minutes.

Ok, so I did this in another forum so I thought I'd try it here. I will post three pictures (below) and you guys make a caption for it.

For those who don't know or don't care, when I'm not in grad school, playing MxO or studying/homework, I fly. I am a pilot and I try to fly at least once a week. Today I was going to go to an aircraft graveyard called Maxton. That was the plan anyways. Today I rented out N3663R, a Piper Cherokee 180. However, as the pictures will show, something things don't always work out as planned. In my years of flying, the phrase "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong" has stuck to my mind. Now on to the pictures!

Here we see my map, my flight plans and weather. The flight plan was to go from Concord Regional, to Maxton, and then to Monroe, where I would drop off a friend of mine so he can pick up a Beechcraft Bonanza, then I would go back to Concord. It took me an hour and half to plan this. There's a lot of calculation involved in this.

Here's the aircraft that I rent out N3663R.

Here's the cockpit, as you can see I already got everything set up. It's amazing I am the most disorganized person I know, and yet when it comes to aviation, I'm a very neat and organized person, go figure.

Well crap in a hat, I do my pre-flight inspection (that is where I go over the aircraft, look at the various moving parts, the engine, oil, fuel etc.) and I find that the Alternator Belt has broken.

So what's the plan now? Take this aircraft down to Monroe to be fixed, assuming that it has enough battery power to make it. Here is my checklist, along with some other stuff that I use during flight.

So the aviation Gods doesn't hate us too much because we were able to get the engine started and make it down to Monroe. The radios did cut off as we taxied off the runway though and we had to use my friend's backup hand-held radio.

After filling out some paper work and checking on the Bonanza, we board the Bonanza, my friend was going to fly and I was a passenger. (I'm not rated for this type of aircraft so legally I can't fly it.) Here we see the panel of the Bonanza

I've been hearing alot about Airsoft guns, and I'm just wondering what's the big deal is. The way I understand it is that it's just a gun that shoots plastic BBs (as oppose to metal ones like BB guns do) and some of them look cool. Is there a sport built around Airsofts?

Ok, so I've been pretty much going insane lately, because I like this girl, I want to be with her, but she has a b.f. Y'all should know that she is also my ex from High School. I was 18, she was 17 when we broke up. I'm now 24, and she's 23. So time has passed. Anyways, we started talking again, and all of these old feelings came rushing back for the both of us. Now up till last night she says that her boyfriend has been possessive, and controlling every time she talks to someone new, this includes her female friends. Well apparently it's gotten worse when we started talking again and that resulted to her telling him on Saturday Night that he used his last "strike" and that she is now going to reevaluate this relationship, her feelings for him, and also to make sure her feelings for me are true and not just one of those "What could've happened?" kinda deal.

ANYWAYS, last night, the guy was completely different. Hell he even admitted to being possessive, and controlling and apologizing. They actually got along for a change last night. I'm starting to think that I may never get another chance with her, even though she told me that I will get another chance (I do have to keep in mind she said this when he was driving her up the wall). Yes we have actually started talking about getting back together (Yea I know I know...dangerous water ye be treading) and she acts like she still has deep feelings for me, she actually said that her feelings for me are stronger than her feelings for anybody else. But after last night, I don't know. Yes it was just one day, but those days add up into weeks, into months, and into years. Of course She doesn't think the change is permanent, she says to "give it a week or a few days." Which probably means he's done this before and always reverted back to his old ways. I dunno, they've been together for four years and that along makes me think that they won't break up. It's like a man telling his mistress that he'll divorce his wife to be with her, but he never does, and the mistress gets burned.

So, I will be doing some portraits of myself soon, mainly because after my painful and numerous plastic surgery that I went through to look as to what Society defines as normal. Anyways, I actually plan to wear the same suit The Merovingian wears in Matrix: Reloaded, you know the all black suit. I may have my hair slick back, I do not know. However, I wanted to see what you guys think and have you guys ever dressed up as your favorite movie character for a photo shoot.

So, what are y'alls opinion on dreams? Do they hold any significant meaning, do they predict future events, or is it just the unconscious mind projecting it's thought? I've been pondering some dreams that I've been having lately. They all shared a common theme and I've dreamed about this theme about five nights in a row now. The last time I had several dreams in a row that has a common theme to it, later on that theme carried out in real life. So, I'm just wondering if maybe I'm having these dreams five nights in a row for a reason, or am I just projecting what I want to happen in my dreams in hope that they do happen in real life.
