Beginning Transmission

                This is Xavier Faraday A.K.A Tornadic, Captain of The Nihilist. Three days ago at 06:00, Subatie, my first mate, detected an E.M.P burst on our radar and we decided to investigate. Upon arrival at the scene, we came across the wreckage of a hovercraft and what must have been a dozen sentinels, there were no survivors. We salvaged what we could and came across a very peculiar item. A journal kept by an operative named Archief.

                We turned the device on, hoping its contents could shed some light on what happened here. It is a strange device with no networking capabilities, or disk drives. Every entry is encrypted each one more difficult to crack than the last. “TBD” didn’t want anyone reading this. All we could learn so far is that Archief didn’t seem to work with any faction, and devoted his time while jacked in to studying the matrix.

Subatie decrypted the oldest entry and it seems to be in some kind of code. It reads as follows.

There seem to be notes atteched to each entry, I think they're clues to decoding this mess. Subatie has only decrypted a few so far;

  = Chopper's story, 6

and

= Fisrt Collector, 3

I don't know what this is supposed to mean. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, I will be starting a player event in the coming days Titled “The Journal”. Any live events will take place on either Saturday or Sunday in the afternoon or evening (or 1-4am EST any day of the week for those across the pond.). As the story unfolds, I’ll need volunteer captains from the following factions to play a part; Exemplar Triune, The Brethren, The Collective, and Most importantly, Familia Gregoria. Some parts will be bigger than others, no one’s name will be besmirched, and this (hopefully) won’t become a flame war about who’s better then who. If you’re a ship captain and can jack in on the weekend, send me a PM if you’re interested. Any and ALL volunteers will be appreciated, just let me know which faction you’re with so I can plan accordingly.

I've seen that happen a few times before. Have you tried logging in on the webpage it brings up? The time I had that problem doing that seemed to fix it.

here's the deal. there's a general SOE customer service line right? well if you have questions call them. Just ask for supervisors untill you can talk to someone who can answer your question.

pretty much just say this : I pay for MXO, what's going to happen to the game now that rarebit is gone? if the guy your talking to can't answer ask for the number of someone who can. I'm doing this first thing saturday morning.

I've decided to except that you're not going to say anything to us about the future of the game. So now I'm just asking you to TELL me that you CAN'T say anything.

You're job is community relation, the community is upset. RELATE.

Alot of us are trying to villify SOE right now, siting the stonewalling as evidence that they just want this game to fizzle out and die. So here's two possibilities of what I think's going on behind closed doors.

1) The launch date for the agency and the server closing date for MXO are a day apart (mxo close, agency launch). It their way of saying "Play the agency, it's like mxo but it's not!". Yea, no.

2) You ever have one of those birthdays where everyone forgets your birthday? Like, no one cares that it's your birthday and you're all mad? So you're going to just go home and hang yourself, and then you open the door to your place and everyones there yelling "SURPRISE!!!" and you go skydiving with everyone and it's the best birthday ever? That's MXO and fan faire '09.

While option 1 is far, far more likely that option 2. What do you guys think SOE is doing about MXO? They haven't said anything for a reason. What do you guys think SOE has up their sleve (or in the pipes) for us?

It was very depressing.

The best thing about Vector is, it makes you a better player, because of the element of danger always present, you learn to be more aware of your surroundings, especially as you get to 50.  It adds a more "Matrixy" feel to it i my opinion.

The problem is, there aren't as many people on Vector at the moment.  But at least its not Recursion...thats the worst of both worlds!

OOOh, so you have all this time to play free realms huh? as a member of COMMUNITY RELATIONS maybe you can take ten seconds and do you job? you know RELATE to the COMMUNITY? It kind of is your job description. tell us what's going on instead of mining all day....jerk.

(note: virrago is most likly not a jerk, as I've never met him I can't say, he seems nice however and shares my fondness for poptarts. I'm just a little miffed that I don't know what's going to happen to MXO.)

The game by design needs regular updates. Either tell us what you guys are planning to do with MXO's story, or give control over to the players, or do nothing. Just tell us what the plan is.

 One more thing, If you're reading this and you have the power to delete forum threads, just say something. We just want to know what's going to happen to our little community. is that really so much to ask?

 I find it hard to believe that they (SOE) deleted this previous thread. This has gone from just ignoring us (which I can live with) to something far worse. So, let me just try to wrap my head around this. Someone with the power to delete forum threads took the time to read the entire thread (or at least part of it), thought "hmm, these people are obviously just confused about the future of the game and frustrated that we're not saying anything" and instead of saying something, anything just deleted this thread? Man the old addage rings true here.

Hey guys, I got some not great news. MXO subs are down, we just don't have the budget to give MXO the attention it needs. Don't worry that much though, MXO is a valued part of the station pass so the forums and the servers are not closing down. We'll try to give you one last big update, something that could put the story into the players hands but I can't make any promises we just don't have the money.

1/1/10 MXO servers are closing because we hate you jerks. Sub eq1 or eq2. plus we have the agency, play that. we hate this game and all the people that play it. We gave rarebit wedgies every day till he quit. we hated that guy because he liked this game. You all suck.

Are you using the station launcher as opposed to the game in question's exe? My mxo.exe stopped launching the game a while back and I had to the station launcher. After that I've had no problems.

My PC's a little slower, So I know where you're coming from. I think if you have your draw distance and detail level as high as it can go, your pc is choking when there are lot of people around (even if you can't see them, your pc may still be rendering them) If you lower your draw distance you might not have as many problems.

By the by, I play on recursion and would welcome new players if you decide to switch.

While I'm glad this got cleared up, Don't you think that he shouldn't have had a problem with this? maybe the website for mxo could be a little more clear about these kinds of things.

I'm Fairly new to MXO ( I signed on about a month after rare left when people were still worried about the game, but not frustrated by lack of Info on SOE's part) and I'm starting this thread to say a BIG WELCOME!!! to all the new players on MXO! I thought there was a farily low influx of new players on this game but I'm seeing alot of new faces lately. Now I'm not sure how all these people are hearing about our little community, But I for one am glad they're giving MXO a shot. The game could use a little attention from SOE, BUT I'm still having alot of fun.

WHEEE! Forums are broke! I just tried to veiw a  few profiles and no luck here.

So far so good. it gets my vote. But you may want to look into FRAPS. fraps is a program that records video feed on your pc. (i.e. It'll capture your mxo event in motion as opposed to having to tell a story through screen caps.)

Firstly, great idea. This is a very Rp and story based game (I recall "continue the STORY of the matrix" being a selling point for this game) and an idea like this is perfect for the playerbase.

Secondly, While I hope, and I really, really hope jah is wrong. I think he may be right. It seems like rarebit was the last person at soe that cared about us, and he left. Please SOE, just give us something.

Hey, I'm looking for a crew myself. I'm a 22 gunman (soon to be scattershot) My character's name is Tornadic. I have a strange schedule so I'm usually on late nights (midnight till about 3am central time) or late morning/early afternoon. I'm a machine follower and I likes me some rp so if you'll excuse me I'll just get into character.....

It would seem that you are looking for comrades, while I feel a little unseasy working with zion to say the least. I'll gladly participate in any exile deletion you're attempting. I know Uncle Gray would dissapprove of me working with zionites given the state of things, The frenchmen and his kind need to learn who is really in control of the matrix.

I'm trying to figure out what these actualy do.

Now after I activate it I search my bonuses tab to see exactly where the bonus is going. Now, I've heard stories of them boosting accuracy so...

nope, not there. well, maybe It boosts the accuracy bonus of my combat tactic.

There it is, alllll the way at the bottom in it's own category, NOT boosting any of my accuracy bonuses. So I ask you the MxO community who has been very, very helpful and knowledgable in the past, please tell me what tactic boosters do!!

you know, I'm not to sure about that, but I will say one thing. if you talk to the collectors for the story completion tokens they have some very cool rewards. (machine, merovingian, and zion investigators). But, the xp gain is fairly sizeable from my experience.

well, now I have a question on the matter. As far as I know the combat tactics (power, speed, grab, block)  modify defence and combat evasion. I assume that in this case defense is damage reduction and combat evasion speaks for itself. If I have that wrong I'd like to know.

My question is; what in the crap to the tactic boosters actually do? I says combat tactics +A number. but what does it increase? accuracy? or all the modifiers of the tactic you're using? (you know power does more damage and you have even less evasion, etc) Both the stats page and the game manual are of little help on this matter.

I'd like to see virrago's thoughts on this. and just to gain his ire....

SOE is just taking our money! and they're using to fund EQ2, a terrible game. we pay for MXO!!! out money should stay there! stop stealing our phat chex you jerx!!!

I think the heart of this thread is basically the discussion of weather or not new players are going to be coming in, or staying but as someone who just got an account recently and who's played other mmos in the past (WoW, CoH, AO, etc.) I'd just like to give my input.

I signed up because I like the cyberpunk theme and the style of the game (mxo is all about style ). But I think no one plays MXO because NO ONE PLAYS MXO. there are veterans but I literally went 10 levels before I saw another human being! granted I'm on recursion so that may be a problem. A MMO is supposed to have at least some people, and I saw none. But once I met a few members of the community, I really started to enjoy myself. The people that still jack in are great, I just wish more people jacked in. MXO's other problem probably stems from the fact that the matrix is old news now. As a game MXO is great, but people don't really care about the matrix movies anymore. So the name isn't really selling anyone and may be turning some players off. MXO is a good game, I just think that people who don't play MXO don't know about it. And that's a shame.

My point I guess is: game = good, community of players = Fantastic and helpful, People's awareness of the game or the fact that it even exists = very, very poor F-- . SOE doesn't have the budget to put money into advertising a game they think no one wants to play, but we the community, should flood other forums (not mxo based sites mind you, WoW fansites and the like) you tube, anything we can to get people aware of this game. I love MXO and I'm still new. I don't want this game to die before I even hit 50.

I play recursion (and machine RP at that) but would just like to say a couple of things.

1) most of the players here whether they RP or not are really, really fantastic people.

2) alot of the remaining factions seem to be rp based, but if you see point one I don't think they'd mind all that much if you break flow a bit, they'd probably be happy just to have some fresh blood in this game

After some time working with uncle gray in the international district I was brought back to mara, where I met a like minded individual. He asked if I would like to be a crew member on his ship the smith's disciples. While I don't agree with smith's ideas I'll gladly help those whu would further the machine cause.

*OOC note, I discoverd the remove names, and remove hud commands literally 10 minutes later but he'd already logged off.

Are you using the mxo launcher, or station launcher? I found that about a week ago the mxo launcher just stopped working ( yet another sign that soe wants this game to die) but I can still login If i use the station launcher.

So there I am playing through the archive mission So I can get those sweet sweet system glasses and the machine mission 3.3.1 won't load! has anyone else had this problem? It says that it can't get the mission header information. is this just a glitch? should I just buy another archive token? somebody please help! I have to look cool in those shades!

Well, I for one am trying to get other people I know into MXO. I think we should all do the same. MXO has a really solid community of players, and we should try and increase our number by recruiting our friends. This game beats wow is just about every area, it's time we showed other players that.

God Forbid sony try to get the only GOOD cyberpunk mmo in existance more players with a great idea like this one. It's not like that would basically be the LAST story event that they'd ever have to do. Then they could just sit back do nothing and make money. But I think we all know that SOE hates gamers, so I have little hope that this awesome idea is ever gonna happen.
