It’s time for me to jack out for good. My account expires next Wednesday, March 4. The truth is, I’ve been gone for a long time and I’ve just kept the accounts going with the hope that something would happen. But honestly, this game hasn’t been the same for me in quite a while.

I’ve been here since beta back in November 2004, and I’d like to thank everyone who I’ve gotten the chance to know over the past 4.5 years. There’s way too many of you to name individually, and the ones that I’ve really become close friends with will stay in touch with me anyways.

Overall, this has been by far one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had. But unfortunately, I only played primarily for the story and the community, and seeing as the story’s all but gone now and nobody ever really cared about player events due to the lack of canon-ness, I think it’s time to go.

I hope that those of you that choose to remember me, choose to do so for my work with Algorithm: Black rather than anything else. Those two months (build-up + the actual event) was the most fun I’ve had in this game since the departure of the Live Events Team after the Death of the Destroyer event, and I’m glad I spent the money I did to help entertain those of you who cared enough to take part.

For those of you that wonder what exactly I did with A:B, well, I helped Phrack write a good portion of the initial story as well as keep things organized with the rest of the team. In addition, I also wrote the screenplays for most of the cinematics and filmed a good number of them myself and worked with Video to get the final product ready for what we considered “live.” Algorithm: Black still had a good portion of story left to tell, but things happen for a reason and it never got told. There was still one last major chapter to go through that would’ve finally brought things full circle that I had written. Hopefully in the not-too-distant future that story will be completed in the form of a series of stories. I think a good portion of those of you who remained would have found it intriguing.

Attention, Crusaders,

I have spent more than two years now selflessly sacrificing myself for the cause of this organization. I left Zion because it was time to make a difference, and for a time, I believe we did. But then command fell into the trap. They allowed themselves to become distracted by the mundane as every other organizational leader has done. Every time something new comes up, we are sent off to endlessly chase after shadows as if command has a severe case of ADHD. 

There are forces at work here of which we remain unaware, and we refuse to see them because we are too blinded by what is directly in front of our faces. Even now, inexperienced, raw recruits are being trained for what will most likely be their first and last mission into the no-fly zone with apparently no experienced operatives to guide them. Neo help them.

I don’t know about all of you, but I signed on to make a difference, not to sit on the sidelines. If there’s one thing Neo knew, it was when to do what needed to be done, regardless of what he was told. And now, I get to the point of this transmission… 

I hereby resign my commission. Do not follow me; do not try to stop me.

Archangel stood on the balcony of his quarters at the Temple, gazing out over the dark horizon and then down to the hovercrafts docked in the area that used to be known as St. Peter's Square.

The lightning is unusually violent tonight.

He let out a sigh, watching the freeborns down below performing maintenance on the Opus Neo fleet. Life was normal at the Temple, but that didn't do much to ease the sense of foreboding that was lingering in the back of Archangel's mind.

"Arch?" Came the soft, feminine voice behind him. "Are you out here?"

One of the new recruits, Benedicte, moved over beside him, her arms pulling her sweater around her more tightly. "It's a bit cold out here, you should come back inside."

"It doesn't bother me," he responded.

"Suit yourself, I'm going back inside, you can freeze out here if you want." She turned and walked away, leaving him alone with his thoughts.

The wind began to pick up a few moments later, and the ancient refuse left behind from better days began to stir in the force of the gale. A torn piece of paper flew up from down below and was forced against Archangel's chest. He reached down and picked it up, glancing down at it.

The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

He crumpled the paper and let it fall before turning to join Benedicte inside. "Yeah," he said to himself. "Cold indeed."

Yeah, this angers me since they let the show go for an entire season, left a huge cliffhanger and the entire story unresolved. If they were going to do this, they should have axed it mid-season instead of bringing it back and putting it up against American Idol and Lost and expecting it to do well.

It's funny, when you go back and look at all the great shows that have gotten cancelled, most of them were cancelled by CBS. CBS has wasted my time the past 2 years by cancelling 4 shows that I watched: Threshold, The Class (admittedly, I don't really care about that show), Smith, and now Jericho (which did have steady ratings). Outside of work, I really shouldn't give CBS any of my time anymore, I think. After all, they're replacing the show in the fall with another freaking reality show about kids running a city with no adult supervision (yeah, how realistic is that?). It should also be noted that CBS is also the same network that originally passed up on Star Trek. Good game, CBS.

So, apparently there's a large enough following behind this show to prompt an attempt to save it(http://www.jericholives.com for the information). A lot of fans are angry that 22+ hours of their time has been wasted. Apparently CBS' phones have been quite busy as a result of this decision. So I suppose maybe all of it is worth a shot.

Any supporters of this show out there in this community? I know I posted a discussion thread about the show months ago, but that was a long time ago, and the writing got a lot better the last half of the season. Any thoughts on the matter?

I was just thinking about this earlier. Anyone remember back during the Monolith days when all the gang NPC names got replaced with actual names (Bob, Mike, Joe, etc.)? I think it was pretty close to just after launch. That made me laugh thinking about those old days.

I remember everyone getting upset that they couldn't figure out who the gang bosses were. I never found it to be that much of an issue since I knew who to look for. But ah well.

Yeah, I haven't had a sig since my name changed, and I'm kind of out of ideas to do one myself. Anyone interested in whipping something up?

I know this sounds odd. But I've learned to not discount anything here either. But lately, especially on Recursion, I've been seeing female commandos popping up. They are players, definately. So what I'm wondering is if anyone else has experienced this and does anyone know if they're legitimate LESIG characters or just someone trying to mess with everyone's heads in light of the current situation?

So far they have all carried the rank "Private."

So, yeah, I had to cut some video for this at work and while I understand the threat of terrorism is a serious issue, this incident is a bit ludicrous and made me laugh.

I'm posting this in General rather than Recursion because I do have friends on my buddy list from all three servers and I'd rather not spam 3 posts about it.

As most of you no doubt have figured out by now, I had to change my name a few weeks ago and apparently from what I've been told my new name isn't already on everyone's buddy lists like Walrus thought it would be.

So, if you haven't already, if you had "Yahweh" on your buddy list, please add "Archangel" to your buddy lists and spread the word that they're the same person. I don't want to be left out of events because some liaison or player doesn't realize who I am.

And this isn't a name change complain thread, so don't bring that in here. This is just a memo to anyone who's interested.

For those of you who know me, you know that my character claims to be a prophet. So, with everyone doing these question threads, it kind of inspired me to do this one.

So, just for fun, ask me a question regarding future events, Dev events or player events, though I admit I probably won't be able to give good interpretations for Syntax or Vector, and I'll make a prediction. Let's see how close I come.

Anyone else been getting time out issues while playing? I'm on Recursion and was wondering if this is something that's been happening frequently lately. And when I get killed, I'm not being sent back to the loading area like I should be. Instead I'm completely having to shut down MxO and log back in.

Just trying to figure out if its some sort of issue going around recently or if my system is screwed up.

I'm looking for someone who has good Photoshop skills and is capable of doctoring up some screenshots for use in cinematics.
