I have been mainly using Gun Sims since they are still new. After all that time with ONLY Aikido Sims, I get kinda queasy when I think about using one.

The problem is that there is only one way to gain faction reputation and that is to go through the grind. Critical missions help break the monotony but if you are trying to get your rep higher, you have no choice.

I recently had to go from Max Zion to mid level Machine in rep. I was ready to plug myself back into the pods....

So why is it that at max level, I still don't have enough memory slots for all the abilities I want to load?? heheh

Do you stand back and use Coder blasts and barrages and statics or do you use those tacky and mundane hand weapons?

I am finding good results when I act as a "state producer" for my Proxy.
I have a couple of enhanced guns that have a chance at producing a certain state and then, based on the Rifle/SubGun/Handgun proxy, I take free-fire attacks of the appropriate style to double my chances at producing a favorable state for my proxy to take advantage of.

This works better for me than standing back and zapping the mobs...

Lots of really good comments here! It all boils down to the people, needless to say. Having focus from the leadership is great but it is down to the comaraderie of the members. If you don't like the people you are running with, then people will bail on the faction.

I think a major factor is sheer stubborness. The Children of the Code found a niche that we liked. We love the genre through and through. A major reason for us was that we maintained the faction through a period of diminished membership period by Lady3Jane simply not dissolving the faction. (Except when we FINALLY went Machine. ) Through this, we had a core of creative and dedicated people to keep the hovers running and the coding happening.

The difference here is that I didn't sprint to 50 like so many others. It is all well and good to being high level all quick-like but what good is being max level if you don't remember the climb?

I remember all the different paths I took. Aikido, Kung Fu, Gunslinger, Proxy etc. A brief stint as Doctor-For-Hire. And all the while coding for everyone under the green Code sky. These roles were spread out over the months and months, not compressed into one headlong run to 50 using the most efficient route.

No regrets here at all. I guess it is a different value system....

After a 2 year run, I am finally poised to hit 50!

There will be a small gathering of well wishers at the HyperCube monument at Mara Central on New Year's Day at 1pm EST. Nothing Big. Just a bunch of us Children of the Code watching me break 50 by Coding at once used to be the Coding Center of Megacity.

So there I was, farming for Operative Subroutines with my Submachine gun proxy.

The proxy was set for Aggressive. I ran back to the hardline to decomp and check the market. I totally forgot about the proxy. I don't recall where I left her but she was wandering the alleys destroying Assassins. I just followed the trail of dead bodies and found her at the end of an alley just waiting.

All that was needed was her to say to me "OK. What next?"

It IS a great thing to decomp anything you find, eh? I, at level 49, have a +89 Decomp and that is only because I am lazy and haven't compiled a full set of clothes to Decomp with.

I can DeComp the Oracle if I meet her...

Lady3Jane was beside herself after seeing the Fashion & Style Violations the Twins were guilty of....

Indeed. Except that there are actual bugs most of us would rather see fixed as opposed to some of the new things Dev is working on.

I would still trade 1000 /AFK-type modifications for getting the Gol-Durn compiler to show the Gol-Durn item details again. :'(

The change is good and bad.

Good in that I can now have a decent combat loadout as well as DataMiner.

Bad in that it is easier for everyone ELSE to be a Data Miner now. It used to be that only a dedicated few would load up Data Mining...

It is mostly GOOD though.

Agreed. Remember back when we had HALF the number of Inventory slots? The prob I am running into is that I dont' have enough uploadable space now!
