truth can sometimes be stranger than fiction. i have oft wondered why iz it that out of all the places in game, we choose to congregate in mara c! a place of never ending drama and pvp around the clock and where u become conditioned into the game.

i recently decided to look the word up and i found it quite bizarre that i found the meanings to speak of a demon with attributes that directly reflect the behavior u witness in mxo's fav hangout!

klesa-mara- embodiment of all unskilfull emotions! in mara c, everyone knows of the drama in mara c, if u dont, just watch.

mrtyu-mara- ceaseless round of birth and death! in mara c, if u pvp, u always die, go to the loading area and come back again.

skadha-mara- conditioned existence! if u choose not to hang out in mara c, no one knows u.

and mara also means death! i have come to the conclusion that while we kill each other in mara c, we are also killing the game by hanging out at mara. we must get out, get away from mara and find greener pastures. i suggest we head east to international district. thay have dojos to pvp in!

the article that got my attention the most was entitled "SOUL SEARCH: can science ever decipher the secrets of the human soul." i was very excited to read it, and when it began talking about OBE (out of body experiences) and NDE (near death experiences)

it says in so many words...

at the center of many OBE's and NBE's iz the sensation of the mind having left the body and because of this, may have actually spawned the idea of a soul. it goes on to say early human may have actually experienced this and interpreted it as evidence of their minds seperating form their body.

there are many philosophers, psychologists and one nuero scientist in particular named Olaf Blanke. he is a neuroscientist at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne.

Olaf's question is what is OBE and more importantly what causes them. to answer this question, he set out to actually cause one!

he actually induced an OBE in a patient by stimulating the temporal-parietal junction (a part of the brain important in body orientation) each time they stimulated that area, the patient, who had never had an OBE before, experienced one.

while they were stimulating it, she was awake and not impaired in any sense, and she told them that she saw the world, including the 3 people in the room and herself lying in bed from an elevated perspective!

it haz been said that it is a system built to keep us under control in order to turn a human being in2 a battery.

at the end of the matrix trilogy; we find a very different matrix... version 6 had crashed and version 7 was booted up.

mxo iz version 7. it iz a matrix where human beings can leave if they choose to and we find 3 orgz fighting for power and control.

after 3 years, this version iz still running and a couple of heroes have been exterminated in the course of that time period. a lot of programz have come to power and eventually defeated. for a while, the truce waz broken and war waz imminent but even that waz shortlived and gave way to something, something elusive, and quiet and dare i say meleoncholy.

could this be the quiet before the storm?

will the machines decide to eventually stop all humans from jacking into the matrix?

will we see the anomaly we called neo return?

or will we humanz cease to care about entering into the simulation altogether

it is up to us!

i recently created a thread entitled "dear john smedley..."

some people seemed to dislike what it is i said in the post, some called it the cancer that is ruining mxo and that is certainly their opinion. they are entitled to theirs as i am entitled to mine.

what i wanted to express and what i am adamant about is that we gamers have a voice and if we speak loud enough, the president of soe can hear us.

i refuse to believe that people who have legitimate complaints regarding mxo is a cancer that is killing the game, the cancer is soe, not taking care of the game. the problem is soe making millions of dollars and not putting back into their products.

i want to stand up for all the people who help run mxo and demand they get help. if they get help, they can give us new content, new content will bring more players, more players mean more money, everyone wins!

I do not have an idea what exactly it is that You do. I am guessing that You call a Lot of Board Meetings, Talk to People about Future Projects that SOE would like to tackle, Do Paperwork and write blogs. I suppose that You keep very busy doing such things and that You get payed quite a bit for the work that You do. You have a lofty position and because of this, You are disconnected from the people who pay your salary.

It is perfectly acceptable to me that You are disconnected from the actual gamers who subscribe to station.com. But when there is an ongoing problem with how soe treats the games that it has on station.com, I hope it is acceptable to You for someone like me to write about it.

When SOE bought The Matrix Online from Monolith. A Majority of Gamers became scared that they would ruin the game and for good reason. What they did to Star Wars Galaxies made a lot of gamers angry.

Upon purchasing MXO, SOE started revamping the Combat in the game in order to improve playabilty. That was a good thing but the game has been disrespected by SOE ever since. It lacks Developers, There is no Animation Department and Lack of Content in the game is due to having a skeleton staff.

SOE's tagline is "WE HAVE YOUR GAME" but it should be "WE HAVE YOUR GAME and WE GOING TO RUIN IT

I would like to request one thing. I request that You look into MXO and find out why it doesnt have enough developers to run it, no animation department and when are we going to recieve serious upgraded content?

I mean to request that MXO recieve additional funding, more staff so as to provide better and more quality content, and Advertising! I do not see SOE doing this. If They are not going to spend money to take care of this game, then I request that they kill it.

i would like to take a chance to speak about something that gets on my nerves about this website.

this is the official mxo website and i understand it is an soe domain but it gets on my nerves when i go to the NEWS section and see info about other games, unrelated podcasts, and crap about john smedley upgrading every game except mxo!

a lot of players agree with and have this assumption that soe doesnt care about mxo so the reaction to that is u have players who dont care about soe.

keep the news about other video games somewhere else, if i wanted to know about other video games, i can google. i am sick of unrelated podcasts! if i suddenly have an interest in what john smedley is going to do with everquest, well i dont care about what mr. smedley is doing unless it has something to do with mxo!

i dont know what caused such a change to the gi. it makes no sense, why did they change it? did someone complain about it? were they trying to make it look cooler?

i appreciate that they cleaned it up. it did look all spotchy around the collar but whats up with the pants?

its really simple, all u have to do is think about what u are going to put into the game, and before u put it in, commit to follow thru with what it means to the game.

last patch, the cheat codes were the big topic of the storyline but yet not one single player was able to aquire such cheat codes. so why did u guys follow that storyline when u guys knew u wasnt going to take the effort to let anything like that happen.

all it takes is out of the box thinking; mmmm cheat codes; lets start developing some cheats for the players; like bullet proof ability, laser eyes, flying!

i believe the combat revision 2.0 nneds to be overhauled. u have hackers at the short end of the stick and it does not adhere to the story of the matrix.

hackers are the only ones capable of becoming the one. neo was a hacker

martial arts are cool and a gun man is cool but they shouldnt be able to defeat a hacker in 30 seconds.

neither one should have any kind of natural viral defense except in the clothing they wear

i begin to think that it was a great mistake to make these abilities more powerful and to think u would make more money drawing in children who never watched the movie.

u need to appeal to the fans

since then; i have increased in level and bought books for all the comstructs and visted every one of them on more than one occasion.

i am an avid player of this game and i believe that u guys at soe need to understand that the game needz 2 have more content that iz MATRIX.

the duality of choice in the movies iz not immdiatley apparant in game

an example of what i am talking about will be more easily undertood in the writing below

the current critical missions should actually have went down like this

the key that seems 2 be the focal point of the current event ; it iz apparant that the merv haz it and it iz up 2 us 2 get it but to get it; we have to go speak to him face to face with 10 of the generals men accompanying us in our mission

and from there he speaks to us

telling us he will not give up the key; he has no reason to

unless we are willing 2 give up our current role in the matrix; meaning leave our faction permanatley and our affiliation with zion to come work with him.

only then will he give u the key and present u the box that it opens which unlocks real cheat codes

such az a bulletproof ability; code 2 increase ur innner strength 500 points, code to stop time temporarily and ability to fly

abilty to fly allows u to go to places in the matrix that u have never been to before

now if a event like this would bring the game back to what it supposed 2 be

on a related subject; besides seeing cops; i wanna see garbage trucks
picking up garbage. postal trucks, ups, fedex, jets in the sky. i wanna
see car accidents; ambulances, paramedics, firetrucks responding to
