Question for all you heavy PvPers out there who prefer MA/Operative.

Where are your ability points, naked and unbuffed? Not base, but where did you put your points?

Curious as I get close to 50 to be sure I've put my last few in the right spots to let me take some incoming fire but still be good as mostly an MA, sometimes as arbalest...

Don't see any hint of information about this -- just tried to login to Recursion and it's Down. All other servers are up. I trust someone at SOE knows about this/is working to fix it/will post it on the Announcement Board to keep the paying customers in the know? Thanks.

A friend sent me the audio file of the early Sept. interview with Andy, and many have asked for a transcript. Here's a brief rundown, typing out his answers for you.

DJJ: We want to know more about ya.

AK: AOK are my initials. Andrew Owen Kaplan. I started with the project back in 2002 as an engineer on the client team. I worked my way up the ranks to be a lead engineer and am officially the producer for The Matrix Online.

DJJ: Our listeners have sent three priority questions, lets do those first...

AK: The AOL Instant Messaging System was removed from the game as part of our transition into SOE which allows us to lay the groundwork to allow us to integrate the SOE Chat System. This, in turn, allows us to open up access to the SOE Mail System for a future update. The SOE Chat System allows you to chat with anyone playing any SOE game at any time -- EQ, SWG, etc. and coming up, MxO. It's the same chat system as you can see now in the other SOE titles.

In-game email will be restricted to the same world, and it will let you send items in-game to people in MxO.

AK: Patches are set to come to you every two weeks. Based on testing of course.

AK: Live events will continue. They're an important means for us to continue the story. But things are changing. You'll likely not see day to day live events from the team. But you will see and be able to participate in live events going forward.

DJJ: Here's some more user questions for you...

AK: You can expect a live event in about a month once the current story arc two completes. The next event will be big, can't go into detail. But about the end of September.

AK: The live event timeline... They'll be less frequent. Not day to day. More likely weeks between them that involve live actors.

AK: We're looking for ways to recognize the people who've been in the game the longest time. [Live events/interacting with Morpheus in-game, etc.] And it's a bit of a balance. We want everyone to get involved -- the uber players and the casual gamers.

AK: Flash traffic for live event chats. We'll be using SOE in-game chat and flash traffic messaging to keep in touch. It's in place and will continue to be used for the live event messaging as needed.

AK: Server merge and previous live events and continuity of the story... We've been in touch with Paul Chadwick, he's crafting story that will bring things together.

AK: The live events special interest group. First round of applications are complete, are in review. Will be a way for people to participate in the live events and what direction they'll take in the future.

AK: Glitch fixes are coming... again every two weeks is the plan for upcoming patches.

AK: Zen Master discipline slipped out. It wasn't tested fully or balanced. Before we released it we wanted it to be tested. We're looking at a whole set of new disciplines and we have a lot of work to do before they're ready for everyone.

AK: Interlock changes are coming. Lots of work going on. Combat will be a lot of fun -- I've played it internally and it's really great. A lot of fun.

AK: Buff unbuffed clothes/unbuff buffed clothes? We're talking about this, but no plans as of yet. We do have a series of silenced weapons that will have a smaller noise radius are coming.

AK: Loss of beta gear. First I've heard about this. Something we can verify and create some tools to allow CSR to refund the items. Petition it and I'll look into it.

AK: Will you expand the local contact content/collectors? Yes, they're a huge part of the game, and will become even bigger coming up.

AK: Archives/Constructs. We do have some long-term plans for some new archives. Not something short-term, but longer-term you'll see these coming.

AK: Crews/Faction functionality changes. We want to find a way to simplify this. We're kicking around ideas for how to do this. No hard plans yet/timelines.

AK: There's a lot of energy internally here at SOE. We're working on a lot of great things and we want you to play a game that you really enjoy, tell your friends about, and have a blast.

If you're like me, you just want some help when you hit the rough spots. With that in mind, here's a highly abbreviated guide (WITH SPOLIERS) to help you get over the hump if you have issues...

-- Arc 1

1. Go to the Hampton Green Hotel

Hampton Green East Hardline.

Run down near boss, just outside you'll see a new NPC.

Open chat, get the first item: Research Notes.

Cost $1M Info.

2. Go to any International Hardline

Solo the mission if you're 50, make a team and make yourself the leader if you're not.

Right-click on the Research Notes and select Use Item.

A new mission will start.

Make sure leader loots the two drops at the end: Scapel and Postcard.

3. Take the Scapel to White Lotus Hotel

Shinjuku West Central Hardline

Inside the front doors BEFORE the elevators to the left, you'll see a new NPC behind a counter.

He'll want to see your scapel, and he'll give you a Mr. P's Card.

(Note: This is where you can restart the Arc 1 mission to get another spawnable BOX.)

4. Take the Mr. P's Card Downtown, Any Hardline

Solo the mission if you're 50, make a team and make yourself the leader if you're not.

Right-click on the Mr. P's Card and select Use Item.

A new mission will start.

Note that you or one member of your team needs to have a lockpick and pick locks skill and Hacker skills in order to, unlock a lock, and hack a computer.

5. At the end you'll get a Crucible -- that's your BOX to spawn Arc 1 mob waves.

Make a team and make yourself the leader if you're not.

Go to any downtown hardline, get more than 100M away from the hardline.

Right-click on the Crucible and select Use Item.

Kill the waves of mobs and loot your stuff.

You turn in the stuff to the Archaeologist near the Mara Central Hardline for new items.

At the end, the mission leader should loot the safe that appears: Bloody Surgical Mask.

Rinse and repeat Arc 1 until you collect enough items (see Mara C Arcaeologist for these items) to get the Torture Gloves, then proceed to Arc 2.

-- Arc 2

1. Go to Mara Central and head over to Lorpitor.

Trade the Scapel and Surgical Mask for Origami Paper and a Surgical Mask.

(Can't hurt to get the Mask back, you'll need it later.)

2. Take the Origami Paper to any International Hardline, right-click it, Use Item, do the mission.

3. Kill the gang (hilarious!) and you'll get an Encrypted Key Fob.

The FOB stays with you foeva.

4. (Note: This is where you can restart the Arc 2 mission to get another spawnable BOX.)

Head to Industry Square, kill outdoor mobs, get a Gold Badge.

Move to Creston Heights, kill outdoor mobs, get an Eagle Pin.

Finally, go to Park East, kill outdoor mobs, get a Silver Badge.

4. Go to the MetaCortex Building rooftop, you'll see a new NPC.

Morrell South Hardline.

Trade this guy the Key Fob and the three outdoor mob items for a Pass.

5. Move to Kedemoth East.

Soon as you come out of this Hardline, Use Item on the Pass.

A new mission starts, blah, blah, team, you're leader, finish.

Note that you or one member of your team needs to have a lockpick and pick locks skill and Hacker skills in order to, unlock a lock, and hack a computer.

6. At the end, leader will get another BOX to spawn Arc 2 waves of mobs.

Kill the mobs, loot stuff, and note at the Mara C NPC what items you need to trade in.

I'm in the middle of MANY kills of arc 2 cuz the male Brushes drop a heck of lot less than the female version of the same item.

You must realize the truth: There is no post. Then you will see it is not the post that has moved, only yourself.

Here's the basics:

Go to Mara C. Walk straight ahead near the stairs/church. You'll see the Archaeologist. Open chat, you can see what he offers for different drops/items to collect in the new missions. Read his chat. He sends you downtown to Hampton Green.

Go to the Hampton Green Hotel hideout. Run down to near the boss. You'll see a new NPC/Researcher there. Open chat. First item you can buy from him is a 1M Research Notes item. Buy it.

Form your team. As many on the team as you can is nice for best rewards.

Right-click the Research Notes and select Details. It tells you to go to International. Go there -- Shinjuku, anywhere.

Each member of your team can, in turn, be promoted to leader, then right-click their Notes, select Use Item, and start the Pandora Mission. Be sure the team leader gets the loot from the final phase. Just keep promoting your teammates and run the missions one at a time and let leader loot.

Once first mission is done, head to White Lotus Hotel in Shinjuku, go to near boss/new NPC and get next mission, rinse and repeat...

Back in the day, I was able to download a file and place it in my MxO folder that auto-overlayed the locations of the nodes to turn in keys onto my map.

Anyone have this file saved somewhere and can provide a link?

Need it on my new character, and can't find/remember the name of the file itself.
