:smileyvery-happy: FYI guys, this was in fact happening there late last night, or early this morning, I'd venture as far as to say somewhere between 1 and 3 am CST, while we were all getting the groove on at Parallaxis with SI, here on V.

Though still fail to see the connection here quite clearly... I do believe this is also quite a loved pastime on Vector as well, "Bring Your Own Agent by Mara C."

The very first time was when I just turned 16 at around 4 am one night, went to sleep & totally forgot about it. :smileyvery-happy: Next day I jack in at Mara, hear hacks going off, but never even occurs to me they're being thrown at me, since so used to the sounds there. Inspiration for Hymenoptera would be of course the Matrix series, as unoriginal as it may sound. I try to come up with something that has "Matrix" written all over it when creating all of my characters for MxO, i.e. one word, CORRECTLY SPELLED, that has a meaning and reflects the character's personality/purpose. Not an easy thing to do, not at all. SMILEY

So, Hymenoptera, the little things that sting. Very self-explanatory. Something sharp, stinging, potentially deadly yet evasive at the same time, just like those little hornets. It's sort of a cheerier Marvin, smarter Zaphod and wilier Ford all put together. Douglas Adams definitely a strong inspiration for this type of wiseass character. Also, of course Crowley & Aziraphale, the cheery Vipers, with Cottonmouth in particular, Tolkien, Count Olaf, Lewis Carroll, Oscar Wilde spiced up with some Poe. Quotes are a must-have for this one.

In the Matrix the closest personality would be Alexa from the "Matriculated" or even Niobe, if any of them actually had sense of humor. SMILEY

My favorite series, rivaled only by the "Dune" books and the "Ender's Game" series, continue to inspire.

Here's why in a nutshell (real in-game dialogue):

Hymenoptera: "Huh... Dead... 's what I get for AFK lol"

Toaster X: "If you had given me one reason, I would've let you live."

Hymenoptera: "Well, I probably still wouldn't have given you one on principle, but at least I would've had a witty comeback."

To express the feelings of many people to come on this thread could be summarized in the words of Bill: "Do you know how cruel it is to make someone think someone they love is dead?" But I hope that this was a wake-up call for some, I just hope what we all tried to convey actually worked. Maybe not just you, maybe someone else as well... In life you just never know who may be listening and reacting to every word we're saying...

True, our dedicated barbarians kill first & ask questions later, if at all, with or without any regard to RP at all! lol Hence the rep SMILEY

BUT! What do you expect? lol It's why we all chose the hostile server in the first place: more blood & gore for some :smileyvery-happy: and more hardcore roleplay for others.

I understand that a lot of ppl do look at CR2 as an opportunity to catch up with old friends from other servers or actually finally get to know new people. But the purpose of the QA server really IS to test combat SMILEY

If you can run around flagged in good spirits, more power to you, but a word of caution: don't get offended and don't take it personally when get ganked by players with "Vector-Hostile" in red above their heads. They do it all the time as it is, and now.... Now they smell fresh blood!

What was memorable, however, was another encounter with two guys from his faction earlier in the day. On the way to my mish point, I come through a HL in Westview, see some red in close proximity & turn to at least find out who it is, before getting ready to reconstruct (force of habit lol). But no, I'm not being stunned or interlocked... Huh, I"m thinking, AFK? As my PC finally unlags, the little guy says "Hi" to me. "Could this be?" I'm thinking... "A mach not attacking on sight? This is refreshing..." Then I notice he's one lvl below me. Still, I had a lvl 6 try to jump me a few times... SMILEY No, he's just standing there. So, I'm thinking, I'll talk to him, maybe have a good conversation out of this, who knows. Then another mach from his faction sneaks in from around the corner. This one is also about a lvl or 2 below me. They draw near, and the evening starts to lose its sultry feel... Then my mish buddy, 3 lvls below me comes through the HL, on the way to the same mish point. "Well, well, well," I'm thinking, "What have we here..." I'm giggling like mad. 2 for 2 with about the same lvl... Perfect! ... AND THEY TURN AND RUN!!!!!

As strongly as the noble art of ganking is represented on this server, you can't get a decent response unless ur a lvl 50? Help me out, ppl! I'm almost 25 by now, and the only action from the two other orgs I had was slaughter. (I'm not mentioning the few uber kewl individuals I love to talk to round here) Yes, I understand, most of reds I see are the seasoned maxed out players bored out if their minds. Yes, I know, there just aren't many opposing fac players around my lvl for that exact reason, and they never travel alone like I do, for the simple fact of overwhelming Zion numbers. But still...
