Neoteny has a point... You all used to believe in the same things we do, that this simulation isn't the best for humanity and that people need to see what's got them imprisoned... At what point in time did you all decide to throw away what you believed in and become hypocrites?

The VIrus....

1.0 - Realisation..

He starts his day like every other normal day, he gets up, cleanses himself, gets dressed and trains. But this wasn't a normal day, everything seemed out of place to him.. It was odd.. Like the feeling you get when you know something's not right.. He checked everything, from his clothes locker to his bed, being observant he noticed certain things were out of place. Mainly because he had put certain things in certain places so he could tell if someone had been looking for something, something important.. He turned around and as if like magic, everything was back to normal, also he felt quite tired all of a sudden like he had been getting no sleep at all, maybe it was a VIrus, maybe it was his mind getting confused.

Thinking nothing of it, Resident walked from his quarters up to the main deck where Kraler and SnowKitty were carrying out some light repairs to the inner hull. Walking past them the usual sarcastic comment or joke would fly right out of Kraler's mouth, noticing this slight abnormality in his own First mates behaviour, he turned round and walked back to talk with them.. Funnily enough they were still there, but still no sarcastic jokes or comments, even though Resident made himself heard by walking as loudly as possible and singing his favourite Stevey Wonder tune. Superstitious.. Upon his return Kraler glanced at him and the same with SnowKitty, both giving him rather blank looks. No facial expressions, almost like there faces were glued in that position..

"I'm gonna go check on Frea and Neb, see what they are getting up to.." Muttered Resident as he walked away from the 2 blank operatives..

Yet again, no witty comments from either of them..

Resident made it down to the operations deck with Frea and DarkNebula sat in the cantine, eating their slop, having a good time laughing and what not. He decided to join them to say hello and stuffs..

"Hey Frea, Neb.. Have you noticed anything weird about the other two?" asked the bewildered captain..

"no" Replied Frea... "why?"

"Oh nevermind, just getting confused in my old age.." joked Resident..

"But you're only 26 sir.. Oh..wait.. No, nevermind...." Said DarkNebula..

The bewildered captain rolled his eyes and continued towards the Operators station, upon hitting a few keystrokes the monitors fired up only to display nothing. Usually the main screens would show the Matrix construct code, flowing like rain down the screen, but today it looked rather odd. Just the odd one or two lines and the odd letter. He raised an eyebrow and hit escape a few times then a bright flash was given off by the monitors, it blinded him for a few seconds but once regaining his sight he noticed that the construct code was flowing like it usually would.. Resident just shook his head and prepared the computers for an automated jack in..

Next he woke up in a white room, like a loading construct but way different. For a start it didn't feel like the loading construct he was used to, atleast not the one that Zion provided with every ship that they built, it felt odd. It felt like he was being watched from every angle, like every movement he made was being documented and recorded.

Little did he know how far was from the truth...

I would just like to say, since I've been playing this game, I've encountered alot of good people. Although some in there actions have always meant good. I'm not here to *CENSORED* and moan, but more to thank you all for being such awesome people..

 My first thanks go to the People of Recursion, EPN, Cypherite, Machine, Zion.. And not forgetting those pesky Frenchies :).. for being awesome people to play with, you have made my two years (well i've been playing two years in may next year but hey, who's counting?) memorable..

Resident has always been a weird one. Even from birth he was not normal, he was different. Many relationships failing on him led him to believe that no one cared.. That no one would stand up and tell him he was wrong.. Until Helen.. She was amazing, b-e-a-utiful in every way, from the way she walked to the way she held her blonde hair.. She was perfection..

She taught him what it was like to fight for something, to love and to be loved... He was never the same after she died, he would sit and watch people for hours, watch them carry on with their lives, as if he didn't exist. It was not until he was awakend that he finaly found out why she had died.. It was her purpose, her whole existance was mean't to teach him how to be.. How to be Human..

He was madly in love with her, she was his everything, he would not let her go with out a fight..

(scene changes.. Helen lying on the floor, bleeding out..)

James walks in the door to find Helen, lying on the floor, dying..

"Oh my.. God Helen, Helen, wake up.. Cmon I'm here, *poop*..."

"J.. I lo.. you!"

A tear from James's face rolls off and falls onto her lips.. Helen looks him in the eye, she knew this was her purpose, to help someone become more..

"Shh now, the ambulance will be here soon, you just hold on.."

".. it's too late.. I. I"

"I can't loose you Helen... Not now!!"

Her blood riden hand touched his face so gently and with much love..

James kisses Helen on the forhead, she starts to cry realising that she will never see him again.. She can feel the life seeping away, with every passing moment her cheeks turn lighter, within seconds she was turning whiter, her eyes getting heavier, getting harder for her to keep open..

"Hello?... Can anyone here me?.. It's the Ambulance.. Hello?".

By the time they got to her, it was too late. She had lost alot of blood, she couldn't be saved, even though they did everything, after trying for 3 hours, she finaly passed away leaving James devastated..

4 weeks had passed since she passed, since she was murderd, her parents devastated by her death, he had only been away two hours or more after a meeting with his boss.. He was being promoted to duty manager at Metacortex, he had just gone out and bought a wedding ring .. He was going to ask her to marry him.. After all, they were inseperable. James would go home everynight and pick her up off of the chair and spin her around, you know to make her feel at home, he would tell her to take a bath so he could get the fire going, he'd bring in the blankets from the bedroom and move all the furniture in the living room too make a large louging place where they would sit and watch television and talk about their day. He would take her into his arms and hold her tight, and kiss her every now and then, and tell her that he loved her soo much.. She would smile when he was with her and miss him when he wasn't around, the usual thing..

4 months passed since her murder, James got another position within the company, Computer technician.. This was where he caught his first glimpse of the real world... still not over Helens death, he was going to rush his last job, the last pc of the day just so he could go buy flowers and set them near her grave... He miscalculated something along the lines of rushing the PC, he got electricuted, it drove him into a coma, for only a moment, well thats what the doctors said had happened.. but we all know the story, he'd been forced out of the System by the jolt of the electricity coursing through his veins..

Present day..

Resident still goes to her grave, religiously.. To tell her of his day, what he got up to so on and so forth.. He still wonders what it would be like if she was still around, he wouldn't know a great group of people, all his friends in Pluribus Neo... His adopted family..

Resident plummets towards the ground like a rain drop, elegantly falling from the sky. He loved to just drop in from nowhere, but this was more specific, his operator could not drop him any closer to the building that he was to investigate..

“That was so cool.. But next time I think I’ll drop you next to a hardline.”

“You’re no fun, I like to fall.. It’s more fun than teleporting everywhere.. Oh yeah did you get a fix on any programs or life signs in the building?”

“.. I tried but the building is heavily shielded, what ever the machines have inside there, they don’t want us simpletons to see..”

“Ok, I’m getting closer to the building.. Executing radio silence. Remember, only contact me if you need me..”

“Roger that.. Executing radio silence..”

Resident slides his phone back into his Dusters inside pocket, he could feel the wind flying past his face as he fell closer and closer towards the ground, with no hope of surviving if he missed his chance to enter the building.

He spreads himself out so that the friction of the air and the drag on his clothes will slow him down enough so he could spot his entry point on the building, he pulls out a 9mm pistol and aims for a window close to the top floor.

“This better be the right one.. Four across, seventy-one up..”

He braces his weapon as he aims for the large plate of glass stopping him from getting into the building. He squeezes the trigger, millimetre by millimetre until the gun finally fires and lets loose the round.

The bullet hurtles towards the piece of tempered glass, but this was no ordinary glass, as the bullet impacts onto the surface, the glass bends, absorbing the energy of the bullet and dropping it to the ground.

He knew he was going to have a hard time getting into the building but with his body losing altitude, he was going to have to think fast. Resident fires off a volley of 9 more rounds hoping one of them would crack the altered glass allowing him easy access into the building.. Eight of the bullets stretch the glass to its maximum tolerance, the ninth bullet finally finishes off the glass sheet. The glass flexes back into place, cracked, he knew it was going to be easier from here.

Resident preps his grappling hook and tether line. He holsters his weapon, and removes a large rifle from his back. He attaches the hook to the barrel of the rifle and the end of the tether line to a karabiner on his safety harness.

“Ok, so I have 37 meters of line, and one shot to get this right.. This could be fun..”

He visualises his goal in his mind. Shooting the grapple at the building, the grapple clings to the inner edge of the roof.. The line finally pulls taught with a twang and Resident hurtles towards the damaged window..

Back down to reality, the rifle misfires.. Resident has only seconds until his window for flying through the window is up, then only a matter of seconds more until he is dead, there would be no time to fire his EJP.. There would also be no point..

*meh, I got bored.. I might kill Resident off, I might not, depends how I feel tomorrow xD*
