Of course they're different, they're two different formats. And if you can't even open your mind, in a Sci-Fi franchise of all things, to possibilities or even to listen to the explanation for things given like this Trinity point (I believe there was a part of the Asassin storyline that hinted on something to do with Trinity), then why am I not surprised you don't like it.

Like i said.. its a personal thing.  This game is nowhere near what it used to be.. and neither is the story.

Cant open my mind?  Sorry Vinia, i dont want to come across as rude here.. but what do you know about me and my taste?  Perhaps i am just too hardcore a matrix fan (as in the movies / comics) to accept what has become of this in my opion laughable storyline.

What is blatently apparent to me however, moving slightly more towards the topic at hand, is that there are a sizeable number of players that are very unhappy with the way this new approach is heading and it is causing what looks to me like the death of a game that once had massive potential before SOE decided to murder it.

As far as i am concerned the direction the storyline (basing on the little summary i have had on it) is going in just now is nothing to do with the matrix.  Oh and as for combat and archive missions... thats just what i want to do.  I want to run through all the missions i did from when i started in 2005. 

Sorry that just isnt good enough imo.  When i started playing this game i did so because of the continuation of the story and the interaction with characters.  I do not consider missions interaction with characters.

Im not a gamer... im not interested in farming items... im interested in the matrix.  Now there is practically nothing that is matrix like in THE MATRIX ONLINE i have no purpose in playing without Live Events / Storyline involvment.

I have just come back from around about 18 months break from mxo and i am kind of shocked to see the game in such a terrible state.

Yes there is plenty to do (especially after being away so long) but in terms of storyline, i have no clue what is going on and admittantly.. im not interested anymore.  I used to play this game to be part of The Matrix.  Now it seems there is less and less chance of this happening.  I remember the build to CR2 being launched and wondering if i would ever see a new live event.  Suddenly with this new approach as its being called i am left wondering if i made a mistake in coming back.

Its clear to see that these changes are driving players away.  I think this has been a massive mistake.  I wonder what it is going to take to get the powers that be to sit up and listen.  It seems although there are some supporters of these changes that the majority of the community are against it on some level.

If things keep going the way they are going its surely a matter of time before SOE decides this game is not cost affective (if it is even at this point!).

I have to admit having just returned it seems like almost all of the new content is based upon a grind / collect basis.

It is completely understandable that people are losing motivation quickly for these reasons.

I have to say i am already finding it hard to motivate myself to jack in and cannot really see myself renewing my sub too often.

Its sad to see people's interest dwindle from a game that undoubtably has massive potential.  Its just a shame the game seems to be in the wrong hands (more SOE rather than Rare).  I would imagine this kind of thread will become more and more common.  If this is the case then i really hope the powers that be sit up and take notice.

Well, I think you have to have an appreciation for the noir-ish style of Rare's art. He's been producing images like those used in the cinematics for years (look at his threads in the RSI forums for early examples). I agree with you in that some of the images, taken singularly, were a little difficult to make out what was happening. But taken as a whole, it wasn't hard to follow the action, and (in my opinion) gave a heightened sense of darkness and foreboding.

Im sure given the fullness of time and practice Rare will get his method down and it will flow a lot smoother.  For me personally though.. it doesnt work.

Its a bit of a pisser that i have to work to 6 today.. it has so far been a long day.

No it wasnt.  That was the first thing i checked.

After clearing the cache and restarting my browser signatures magically appeared.

I disagree, wireframe intruders using a different technology to hack into the simulation is just as matrixy as cheat codes and corruptor/fly monsters. We are basically in a computer program and the wireframes are the bases of objects being shown to Operatives.

Ive missed something like a year and a half worth of the story and all ive heard about is these wireframe things.

Whats that all about?  To be quite honest i think they make a mokery of the Matrix series and now you get rewards related to them?  Cmon man.. i know we have an understaffed and underappreciated DEV team but  are you getting lazy or what.  Is this just a token gesture and a quick attempt at a reward while you work on the important things?
