I thought I would take a moment to let other crewmembers and potential new recruits a little about myself. My former name was Robert Davis. I used to have a normal life, well I should say what I thought was a normal life. I lead an unassuming life as a teacher in one of the Mega City schools. I was a respected member of the community. My life was all changed one day when I received a disk in the mail. There was a note that simply said “Free your mind”. It was signed DeBarlo. I loaded the program and it said to meet this person at the junkyard. It was a cold ad rainy day outside and I stood in the rain and waited.
A man can into view; all I could make out was a fedora on his head and a trench coat on his back. The man greeted me and revealed himself as DeBarlo. I asked what he wanted with me and he said he was here to offer me a choice. “I am simply here to offer you the truth”, he said. I listened to what he had to say and sat for what seemed like an eternity in the pouring rain. Zion. The machines. Neo. None of it made sense. I sat and thought, “My life has been nothing but a lie? Could I really be just a slave?” DeBarlo had a small silver canister in his hand. He opened it and removed a two colored pills. “Take the red one and be reborn. Take the blue pill and press on with no knowledge of our meeting”, he said.
I knew what I must do. “What the hell!” I said. I took the red pill. It seemed like this was a moment I had been anticipating my entire life. I joined the other redpills that DeBarlo had freed and became an operative/coder on the hovercraft Pandora. After recruiting a few more redpills and gaining a reputation with Tyndall, the Zion contact, we helped DeBarlo create The Enigma Directive. I assume you have heard of us otherwise you would not be reading this. We have become one of the most talked about factions in the Mega City.
