Biography:
Victor Blood was my name as a bluepill. My life was one lived a step removed from the rest of the press of humanity. I would spend hours at local hot spots, standing to the side, watching the tides of fortune. I would analyze what brought men to fortune and to ruin in those clubs and on those street corners. Patterns emerged. General realizations that prompted me to move, slowly, into ever expanding webs of, unprovable yet undeniably interconnected, conspiracies. Lies fostered upon lies. As I realized that some of those lies came from something outside the normal flow of probability, I was offered my choice. To Awaken, or to sleep. It wasn't a hard choice.
Outside the pods, deep in the belly of the wounded beast that is our Mother Earth, I found that the patterns remained. I delved deep into the Historical Archives. I studied the life of the One with particular interest. Once more, I found myself emerging into general realizations that have, inexorably, drawn me once more into the spider's webs.
Historical fact: Man blotted out the sun. This act was greeted with joy, accepted as the best chance of defeating the Machines.
Analysis: Man was beyond desperate, perhaps even beyond despair. So driven was he to crush this hated foe that he would willingly and knowingly cut himself off from the life giving rays of the sun. There was no concern for the larger repercussions. Whatever they would be, they were an acceptable trade off for victory.
Result: Man lost anyway. Utterly and totally crushed by a force several times more powerful than anything he could hope to combat. In exchange for continued existence, Man agreed to the Matrix, by which the Machines could survive as well. Man -chose- enslavement over extinction, generations of servitude over death.
