First of all PS is 5 years old, making new content like the Battle Dome and Max Factory is not needed and not as thrilling as the new games which have been made to this date

yeah, great idea. The instanced BS is not enough, make it ruin the rest of the game too as a bonus.

huh?? Speeter wants large fights, so he leaves the big maps with 200-400 players and instead goes in the tiny ones for 30 players?

I didnt read all of this, got to page 4 so if someone already mentioned somthing along the lines as i am right now, sorry..

i havnt played this, havnt messed with test server since i got my new system but i think i got the jist of it from the posts i read.. trying to look at this idea objectivly im not sure its as bad of an idea as everyone is suggesting.  i agree anything thats takes players out of the main game is a BAD idea but i doubt to many current players would choose to play this over the main game.

(The Possible Silver Lining)

Most of us have been playing planetside for a while now, maybe we forget the learning curve when we first started,  coming from our UT's and Quake's and almost any other FPS out there, how frustrateing it was learning the game. i wounder how many people over the years just said "screw it" and quit because it was so diffrent from what they were used too...Perhaps this idea would allow new players somthing inbetween, somthing more familiar befor taking on Planetside as a whole, perhaps the "Metagames" could be made stand alone and FREE and advertised as FREE to the world while keeping PS sub based, how long would it be befor the metagames players would want to try out the real deal? This is juts one possible idea for it, i have no idea what the PS team is thinking but despite what alot of people might think, they arr not trying to hurt PS and they DO want more players.

 

To the PS team and SOE,

A keyword in that, THE key word in that is ADVERTISE. I know your marketing team is a diffrent beast altogether, but if you make changes like this and you dont advertise then some people like it,  some people dont and some people quit, you dont get ANY new subscribers, you lose, we all lose....you want this game to grow, you want your ideas to succeed, then take one last risk on it, advertise it and get NEW subscribers...

well they're doing it wrong. Totally.

The best scenario of this is that it will only be a waste of dev time - the metagame will be ignored and no harm done. I really hope for that because the only other option is that it scatters the already dwindling pop, making a part of it unsub in dusgust.

If anyone actually things this will help the game in any way, think again. It will only keep sucking in dev time for bug fixing.
